It’s my belief that it’s Nigel’s fault for not doing his homework with foresight when we were promoted into League 1 in not realising that he would not have sufficient funds for the team to have sufficient budget to progress any further or possibly be relegated. That being the case Nigel should have looked for massive investors s soon as the club were assured points wise of promotion.
We need investors that will sufficiently fund the team for promotion in the very short term and a move to a new ground in the long term.

Why ? This debacle is down to the clubs board for not backing him properly in the transfer market during the Summer . Going cheap with players like Perkins was never going to cut it .

Not only has the footballing landscape changed in a more general sense in the past 2.5 seasons but its also changed massively in league one. Both were impossible to predict when we raised funds - let alone started dreaming about a new stadium. The only way he could have foreseen such changes was to go visit a gypsy and let her gaze into a crystal ball.

It’s great to feign superiority but unfortunately what you have just written is not true. Wycombe have just changed hands and are backed by a different owner. Therefore their budget this season might be completely different to their budget of last season.Bandy Legs wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 12:35 pmNo need, you look at last seasons budgets released for tax reasons & base your next budget on that. Look at the other 23 clubs last financial years & you can easily work it out. There really is some low level intelligence amongst football fans
Such a shame fellow supporters of the same club have to be rude to each other for no apparent reason.

A board of directors don’t just increase the budget by inflation or a set figure. They calculate it on their target for the coming year.
I would suggest if you are going to speak down to people about a specific subject then you make sure you know your subject.

I've never written a Buisness plan for a Football Club & neither have you. Any Smallish Buisness that loses £4 million pound a year is going bust IRL.DrWindy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 10:27 pmI can only assume you have never written a business plan or indeed owned a business.Bandy Legs wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 10:14 pm1 clubs budget is increased because of new ownershipDrWindy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 10:06 pm

Football is very different, Your slightly Condescending post that claims I've never owned a buisness that has limited customers which can only bring in limited funds, while competing against 23 competitors with many having better financial positions than ours & have no authority to speak on whilst excusing others who state
"Break the Bank" " Lack of Investment" & more is rather laughable.

Unbelievable.
I am condescending?
I asked a simple question on how each club could know the budget of other clubs. You replied rudely and with ignorance.
You have now been shown to have no knowledge on the subject. I made no mention of anyone breaking the bank.

Not mentioning the Break the Bank brigade shows your bias.

But you were the one at the very beginning who called me stupid for asking a question that you didn’t know the answer to. Shame you don’t recognise that.

It was obvious as soon as we had enough points to be promoted to League 1 that we would need a massive investment to get the quality of players needed to progress , that wages would go up considerably, that buying the quality of players needed would cost considerably more. That a new stadium would be needed with a much bigger capacity if the club wanted to compete at a higher level, it really should have been no surprise it’s not rocket science.
The optimum time to get massive new investors on board was when we new that promotion to League 1 was a certainty.

I think you might have got the wrong person as I haven't called anybody stupid. I mean you've literally answered your own Question " I guess we find out at the end of the season".
See you take last years figures, add 6 new clubs, factor in crowd size & pricing & you can literally project the budgets. I just finished off what you had already said & that the question didn't need to be asked at the next Q&A. Nothing to do really with your statement , but to question something that was pretty muched explained by Marshall Taylor not long ago.

Of course you can’t. What an idiot you are. Next time if you know nothing about a subject just keep quiet. You have made yourself look very foolish trying to belittle someone else.

By telling somebody they don't need to ask a question at the next Q& A because you had already answered it?
I replied to Gshaw, not you. If I was calling or responding to you I would have quoted you directly.. again with your condescension saying I'm Foolish. I think Not.
