Ratings (v Wycombe)

Post by The Reverend »

Keeley - 6. One of the few not to disgrace himself today. Didn’t really have a chance with any of the goals. I actually think he prevented it being at least 4 by coming out and claiming a couple of long balls that had beaten the defence.

Ball - 3. According to his Wikipedia page (yes, I did have to look this up) he apparently can play as a full back. He bloody well shouldn’t though. At fault for the second goal. Correctly hooked at HT.

Beckles - 4. Poor passing & decision making. Slow. WW forwards had an easy day against him.

Happe - 5. Put in a few important last ditch tackles in the first half. Did well to recover from slipping over and almost gifting them a goal in the first half.

Currie - 6. I was too harsh on him in my ratings against Rotherham. I suspect he can’t wait for Jan so he can leave this sinking ship and either have a crack at the Oxford first team or get loaned out to somewhere else.

Pratley - 5. It’s absolutely mad that we’re starting 39 Pratley in league games. A guy who was a squad depth player last season in a key position this season says it all about how abysmal summer recruitment was.

Brown - 2. Worst player on the pitch. Lightweight, crappy passes, at one point he booted the ball into the centre of the park without even looking. If started a WW counter that they really should have scored from. The fact that he wasn’t hooked sooner again shows how poor our summer recruitment was. There is nobody to replace him.

Agyei - 3. What has happened to this guy? He can’t beat a single player anymore. I said at the start of the season that putting so much reliance on him being one of our only sources of goals would mean that if he has a poor season then we are f*cked. We’ll guess what, he’s having a stinker and we are f*cked.

Galbraith - 3. Worst game in an Orient shirt. Massive cock up for the first goal.

O’Neill - 3. Same question as Agyei: what has happened to this guy? So lightweight. No goal threat.

Kelman - 3. This guy should be a decent option off the bench for the last 20 mins of a game. The fact he is our main striker is mental. The fact that our main striker is a loanee is double mental. The fact that our main striker is a loanee who doesn’t score is triple mental.

Subs

Cooper - 5. Don’t remember him doing anything awful.

Graham - 4. this bloke is a busted flush. I had suspicions that he was overrated in the first place but now I’m certain he is finished.

Obiero - 4. Anonymous

Perkins - 4. Pointless

Warrington - n/a. Why the f*ck did Wellens make this sub? 92 mins. 3-0 down. Was he taking the p*ss?

Generally agree, but for a few points
I thought O Neil was with more than a 3. He was trying.
Next, how can Perkins score higher than O Neil?
Perkins was worth 0, he does nothing,

It’s crazy to me we have Agyei, O’Neill and Graham available on the front free and are doing nothing. At any point last season they seemed like incredible players. What has happened indeed

If you get pumped 3-0 without as much as a whimper does any player deserve above a 4?

An emotional ratings rant suggesting OP is being overly harsh about a poor result and performance. Given the score and RW's comments none of those scores sound that extreme.

Those are your words, mine see that he has taken this loss hard & his emotions have run high & he has lashed out at players performances. I hoped sleeping on it would help the stress of a bad defeat be softened.

If he wants to lash out he has every right to do so, I'm just offering him a tiny bit of respite.

Whatever your anger is about, take it far away from me

Yes. You can’t tar everyone with the same brush. Currie and Happe were okay - especially when you consider what was going on around them. Likewise Keeley, none of the goals were down to him. The rest, fair enough.

Just watched the goals back and you’re right - especially for the third. I thought he was less bad than Beckles in the first half for sure though.

Can’t blame Happe for either. He didn’t pass to the opposition. 2nd goal just too good. And third, goalie beaten at near post!!

Apart from the goalkeeper fairly experienced starting 11. O'neil has a season under his belt

I think it stems from our inept midfield . We’re now realising how much we relied upon El-Miz . We should have broken the bank to get him back.

Not fair on Jordan Graham. He's coming back from a serious injury AND he's playing at right wing back. He is not a wing back and it's showing. I blame Richie on this one.

Can't disagree with much in the OP rantings but like Hoover says, Happe was broadly implicated in the fiasco surrounding two of the goals.

Nice assist from Galbraith for the first.
2nd is a Ball gift
3rd the move is started by giving the ball to them

In every case, they finish their attacks quickly

I’ll be surprised if Happe keeps his place after that. He was less than impressive on the ball in the previous game.

Agreed but he did score our last goal for ages against Rotherham , maybe we should stick him up front alongside’Buckles ‘ 😂😂😂

Wishful thinking to believe (a) he'd join us when a number of championship clubs were in for him and that (b) we'd pay £400k for him. Whilst I agree about the reliance, we can't keep harping back to flights of fantasy.
