How do we fix this?

Post by Long slender neck »

Tactics- build up is too slow. Why aren't we pressing like we did vs Peterborough?

Players- not enough experience? Imagine we cant and wont chuck money away bringing in more, although we are crying out for a striker. Will Graham, DJ and Archibald improve us if they're ever fit?

Formation? Time for something completely different?

Confidence? Has RW just lost the dressing room?

RW needs to find system that work with L2 level players. Also needs to realise that most of our loans probably wish they hadn't come to LO. We also need a new process for recruitment. NT needs to find new investment before the window. We also need a cup run, for the cash so RW should play our strongest team next Sunday.

The feeling of wishing they weren’t at this club is very mutual.

I think we seriously need to consider this.

Spend money on players capable playing how RW wants them to play

This is squarely on the board.

That's the strategic change that needs to happen along with the current scouting / recruitment setup.

As for on the pitch, Agyei as the central striker is our only hope so play him there until he breaks down.

Take Kelman out the firing line for a game or two, he's getting so much flak (though remember still our top scorer) let him recharge and come on as an impact player for a bit.

We're flush with CBs and short of decent midfield so time for the emergency 3-5-2 to at least try and shore up the defensive side?

And also in a Monkey Boy esque crazy suggestion throw Sweeney out wide in an attacking role as a wildcard experiment, can't do any worse than the options we have at present.

This can't be fixed without new additions in January, & even that might not fix things, because I truly believe this team isn't even league 2 standard.

I don't believe there will be any new additions in January, for a few reasons.
One is, if Nigel is selling the club, he won't want to spend a few hundred thou, which he won't get back.
Our only hope is new owners come in before the window, and are willing to splash the cash. With care, we would be able to buy our way out of trouble.
I realise that this is clutching at straws and is most unlikely
We are going down...

The squad is what it is until Jan.

In my humble opinion, got back to the formation we played last year to get the best out of the likes of ageyi and O’Neill who are struggling atm.

Or, back to basics and shift formation to pack midfield (our weakest position) and sacrifice one of the 4 attacking players.
Might sound silly when we can’t score goals but having more control on the middle of the pitch can create space and chances.

In Jan we need to asses the keeper situation, get an actual striker, consider sending some of the loans back and somehow get a midfielder who can carry the ball

Easy decision. Sacrifice one of our attacking players because we're not attacking anyway and pack the midfield .

We have midfielders who are instructed in the possession game by RW and because of this seem to want a week on the ball.

They take in passes with the opposition breathing down their neck and get their pockets picked, pass back, pass it into touch or play the opposition in.

It's so basic and obvious I'm seriously doubting RW

Kelman needs a rest. Brown needs a rest.

RW needs to calm down on the sidelines and let his players play.

Wycombe knew how we would play and to play against us before a ball had been kicked.

RW needs to take a step back and review. We can’t score goals. We will go down if we can’t.

You look at the squad and think with confidence and energy we might just have enough. Right now unfortunately we are miles short.

Look at 4mins on the highlights where RW is stalking the technical area, in the background McCormack looks totally peed off. I don’t know whether with RW or the players. IMO the face he has speaks a thousand words, something is not right behind the scenes.

All we need to do is play like we did in the first 45 mins against Posh, preferably with an extra goal and do it over 90 mins.

Will you be promoting this as your next conspiracy theory? You just need to add that McCormacks appointment was all Lings idea and it should take off.
