Great win.
Only saw the second half but that was a much better performance and fantastic result. Well done all.
Lots of men out there tonight but Omar was immense. Again.

Not pretty but we battled hard and got the break. Hopefully this will give them a bit more confidence.
Games like this so how much we miss El Miz. Rotherham’s press really caused us problems.

Re: Exiles thread - Rotherham (H)
A very very hard watch. First 20 minutes was turgid. Absolutely nothing, other than Happe having a brain fart, happened.
Grew into it in the second half and just about deserved the win. Usual Rotherham and F.Evans tactics.
The win only papers over the cracks of a poor side.
Positive is the keeper. Far more reassuring watching him between the sticks. Also, OON who wasn’t scared to have a shot.

I said Keeley is quality. Hope he doesn't have to many call ups the remainder of the seasonLPE wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 10:09 pm A very very hard watch. First 20 minutes was turgid. Absolutely nothing, other than Happe having a brain fart, happened.

Re: Exiles thread - Rotherham (H)
Oddly feel less positive than after some of our defeats (Exeter, Lincoln). I got a sense of what we were trying to do in those games and could see how with a few minor adjustments we could be onto something. We were mainly awful tonight but came up against an even worse team.LPE wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 10:09 pm A very very hard watch. First 20 minutes was turgid. It's 3 points and if this season is a relegation scrap, then it's a good win, but I can't say there was any grounds for optimism that we're going to be in for anything other than a slog.

And the opposition too, a game against an Evans side is never going to be prettyHoover Attack wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 10:27 pm Not sure what you expected after the run we’ve been on?

Fair enough, probably am being unduly harsh. Was just a very, very bad game of football. Neither side created any real chances apart from our goal.
Satisfying to see Evans blow his top to try to cover for some real dross. Proof that going direct doesn't mean anything if the players and system are rubbish.

So long as there are four sides poorer than us at the end of the season that will do me . All I ask is we don't get relegated .LPE wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 10:09 pm A very very hard watch. First 20 minutes was turgid. Absolutely nothing, other than Happe having a brain fart, happened.

I didn't watch the game tonight because I was at work but going by everybody's comments on here we've played better this season and lost . All that matters is we won .essexfootball wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 10:40 pm 3 points is 3 points but that was an awful game of football

Just watched Evans in his post game interview. He Thought they had a clear cut penalty turned down , Not 1 of his players shouted that it was a penalty. Also said he did not think much of the ref . Usual comment when they lose. I thought they were worse than us up front. He hates losing particularly against usMistadobalina wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 10:35 pm Fair enough, probably am being unduly harsh. Great battling performance tonight, well led by Darren Pratley who I thought was immense tonight.
Evans teams are never easy play against, quick, direct and very physical, but we stood up to their approach well and thankfully actually got a goal.
We need to do better in the final third but this win should lift the confidence.
Josh Keeley also did well in goal .

Didn't he moan about the Ref last season as well when we beat him at Stevenage . ?moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 11:04 pmJust watched Evans in his post game interview. Yeah, but I reckon he lost some weight tonight, as he was up and down like a tarts knickers waving his arms about every minute or soRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 11:07 pmDidn't he moan about the Ref last season as well when we beat him at Stevenage . ?moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 11:04 pmJust watched Evans in his post game interview. Re: Exiles thread - Rotherham (H)
I have just watched Richie post match interview and I to say thank God we have him . In my opinion he's a good quality manager who is destined to manage at a higher level. Anyway he's completely correct . We've really missed Jordan and Theo as attacking options this season . If we had those two fully fit I'm sure we would be at least mid table by now . Also. excellent news about Theo. Apparently his setback isn't as bad as we all feared it was . Richie mentioned five weeks so I'm assuming that's when Theo can start training again . Obviously he will need to be managed back in to the side carefully but it will be great to have him back .
