DJ, Warrington and Perkins ..
Can the club come clean and update us on why
when the club are on there knees and some of
us are watching the worse brand of football
seen in E10 for many a year none of the above
are getting near a starting berth let alone a
place on the bench ..
As fans we can’t blame Kelman and Aygei for
lack of goals when our plan B strike force are
barely making the bench ..
Transfer Committee, Due diligence our scouting
Committee serious questions need to be asked
and someone up the ladder at Brisbane Road
has to step forward and answer “ just why is our
brand of football so poor to sit thru” ..
Look forward to the season ticket renewal coming out for season 25/26 and how prices are
going up to watch lacklustre football at this
rate in League 2 ..
But I suppose we have to fund at least 3 long
term injured players who will barely figure
for that forthcoming season …

I think that our Summer recruitment was some of the worst I have ever known in my 50 years of supporting the Orient.

Worse than *that* Jackett January window? I guess arguably so as the summer window is meant to be when you have better options available so Ling likes to tell usHighwood Man wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 3:15 pm I think that our Summer recruitment was some of the worst I have ever known in my 50 years of supporting the Orient.

Re: DJ, Warrington and Perkins ..
I’d say this summer was worse because the Jackett January window was a case of bringing a load of rubbish in (including possibly the worse loan signing ever: Frank Nouble), however this summer saw us not only bring in a load of cack but we actually let one of our only goal threats go whilst knowing that we’d also lost a number of strong loan players (including El Miz, Brynn and Forde). The Jackett window was doing a bad job of topping up a squad. This summer was a complete failure to adequately replace key players from the core of the starting 11.gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 3:19 pmWorse than *that* Jackett January window? It’s going to potentially relegate us. Mind boggling really when you think of all the hard work it took to get us into league 1 in the first place.

I’d replace those ticks against Currie, Clare & Ball with “?”…. I don’t think any of them could be considered “good” signings yet.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 4:47 pm Who did we sign?

The two PL loanees , Adu-Adeji and Edwards who we signed back in January have to be amongst the worst we have signed in recent years,

You haven’t been watching if this is “some of the worst football” you’ve seen.
Results haven’t been great but that’s different

You said Ball was bought in to replace El Mizouni which is fair enough. Then you give him a tick here. Are you suggesting that Ball has replaced Idris adequately then?

One dud we could have got away with but not five . That's too many for a club with our size budget .Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 4:47 pm Who did we sign?

Re: DJ, Warrington and Perkins ..
From what I've seen of those three players so far I disagree . They look good to me . We do have some good players but for some reason we have a bad team who just can't score . Another factor is I think we're also missing Idris in the middle , big time . . Also it was a big mistake not bringing in a half decent striker during the SummerThe Reverend wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 4:53 pmI’d replace those ticks against Currie, Clare & Ball with “?”…. Re: DJ, Warrington and Perkins ..
Not yet because he's still getting up to speed . He had no pre season so he's playing catch up . From what I've seen of him so far he looks a good signing to me and will play a vital part in our struggle against relegation . Our problem is a soft underbelly and a powder puff striker force .Beradogs wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 5:10 pmHoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 4:47 pm Who did we sign?

I really like Ball. I think he’s been decent so far. Despite being out for some time, he’s already shown he’s our first choice 4.
Is he as good as the El Miz that left us at the end of 24? Obviously not. But we were never going to bring in someone as good.

Re: DJ, Warrington and Perkins ..
IMO the proper senior signings have all been ok. It’s the cheapy / loan kids that have proven to be a false economy.

Re: DJ, Warrington and Perkins ..
I don't know about that but it's certainly neck and neck . I'd send Perkins back to Leeds . While on loan at Oxford last season it's clear to see why he hardly got a game . He's not good enough for League One football .

Re: DJ, Warrington and Perkins ..
That is a matter of opinion, of course, but all three of them , including Edwards aren’t good enough for L1 but fall under the “cheap options “ category.

Totally agree, I believe he was left in the hopeless position where it was take it or leave it there is no money left for anyone better.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 5:06 pmProbably because he didn't have the budget to sign anybody better .

But surely our eagle eyed DOF should have warned him against signing them.
Would the squad have been weakened without them?

Can’t forgive the club for tossing away our play off hopes last January with this fodder. No debate Edwards was the worst thing I’ve ever seen in an Orient shirt. Beyond useless.

We've had worse than Nouble. Sam Parkin, Scott Fitzgerald, Tristan Abrahams, Nick Freeman and Kazaiah Sterling come to mind. The Reverend wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 4:11 pmI’d say this summer was worse because the Jackett January window was a case of bringing a load of rubbish in (including possibly the worse loan signing ever: Frank Nouble), however this summer saw us not only bring in a load of cack but we actually let one of our only goal threats go whilst knowing that we’d also lost a number of strong loan players (including El Miz, Brynn and Forde).
