Most of them. Kelman, Beckles, Archibald & Pratley the obvious ones to be upgraded. Haven't seen enough of Clare in midfield but he could be the new Pratley I suppose.

Re: Building a team to go up
GK - no
LB - Currie is decent but not ours, replace Sweeney
CB - not fussed either way, CBs are easy to replace
RB - no as he's now a CDM, James OK as backup
CDM - Clare, need another to rotate with him
CM - maybe Ball at a push can't really judge him until fit, the rest no
CAM - Galbraith for sure but he'll likely be off soon
Wingers - O'Neill
ST - Agyei as one of 4, Kelman can still come good too but need more options up top

Re: Building a team to go up
We will never build a team because of all the loans we bring in. If loans do end up as starters, the problem there is we have to replace them the next season. So what looks like a decent team has to be built again

Yup between the loans and the out of contract players we're going to need 10+ players come summerStory of O wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 1:44 pm We will never build a team because of all the loans we bring in. Re: Building a team to go up
As el miz showed you actually don’t need amazing quality throughout to challenge for promotion. You need one or two championship standard players that make the tiny difference you need to win most games.
If we had el miz and a decent striker with the same squad we’d easily get top 6

Re: Building a team to go up
Add a GK to that too, Vigoroux earned us many points in the title season. Brynn and Hemming quite the opposite costing points. Keeley... we shall see now he's got the #1 spotRich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 2:21 pm As el miz showed you actually don’t need amazing quality throughout to challenge for promotion. Basically a strong spine of quality then fill in around it, which makes the summer transfer activity all the more puzzling

Really harsh putting Brynn in the same category as Hemming. Brynn was a perfectly fine league 1 GK and considerably better than Hemming.gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 2:55 pmAdd a GK to that too, Vigoroux earned us many points in the title season. Re: Building a team to go up
There was a stat analysis done on the other forum tail end of last season that showed Brynn had a really poor save percentage, which is same as what we have with Hemming... just with added clangers for the latter. Neither of them are a good choice as a #1 for Orient, time to put this loan GK experiment to bed at end of the season. The Reverend wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 4:14 pmReally harsh putting Brynn in the same category as Hemming. Is your suggestion a league one or two keeper and will this take priority over someone who can score goals?gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 8:08 pmThere was a stat analysis done on the other forum tail end of last season that showed Brynn had a really poor save percentage, which is same as what we have with Hemming... just with added clangers for the latter. Both, the strong spine is GK, CB pairing, CDM and ST get those right then fill in around themcockhat wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 8:14 pmIs your suggestion a league one or two keeper and will this take priority over someone who can score goals?gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 8:08 pmThere was a stat analysis done on the other forum tail end of last season that showed Brynn had a really poor save percentage, which is same as what we have with Hemming... just with added clangers for the latter. Re: Building a team to go up
The talk of a strong spine is a bit old fashioned.
But a good keeper is invaluable. It doesn’t make sense to scrimp in that position.

So who do you keep or are your suggesting starting from scratch?gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 8:29 pmBoth, the strong spine is GK, CB pairing, CDM and ST get those right then fill in around themcockhat wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 8:14 pmIs your suggestion a league one or two keeper and will this take priority over someone who can score goals?gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 8:08 pm

Absolutely this . Two players like those would make a massive difference.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 2:21 pm As el miz showed you actually don’t need amazing quality throughout to challenge for promotion. Other than Vigouroux who was the last keeper we had better than Brynn ?gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 8:08 pmThere was a stat analysis done on the other forum tail end of last season that showed Brynn had a really poor save percentage, which is same as what we have with Hemming... just with added clangers for the latter. Well Middlesbrough obviously rate Brynn well enough to have just given him a 4 year contract.gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 8:08 pmThere was a stat analysis done on the other forum tail end of last season that showed Brynn had a really poor save percentage, which is same as what we have with Hemming... just with added clangers for the latter. Re: Building a team to go up
What he might become in 2-3 years time isn't relevant to how he performed for us. Developing players on loan is one thing but letting other clubs' young GKs make their mistakes on our time is quite another.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 11:02 pm Well Middlesbrough obviously rate Brynn well enough to have just given him a 4 year contract.

Re: Building a team to go up
Archibald out for some months. Clare out for 2-3 months. Does not look good in what you said. Better to look who we should send back to their clubs. Hemming , Perkins and Warrington for starters. DJ bad signing from what we’ve seen . O’Neil not the player he was last season Dooley rated highly by Spurs but not ferforming. Can’t see we are building a team to go up more like relegationPagan Orient wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 10:58 am Most of them. Kelman, Beckles, Archibald & Pratley the obvious ones to be upgraded.
