Ask Google.

I'm disappointed that the FA don't think any English managers are better than Tuchel, or did the question of the financial amount of "compensation" involved in nicking a manager from a club put them off?

Apparently I’ve been pronouncing it wrong all these years

There I saying it Took-El when apparently it’s pronounced Too-Shul

The disappointment should be more aimed at the fact that we as a country don't produce many good coaches. There clearly aren't any English managers better than Tuchel and their priority is winning a tournament. If they'd gone for Potter or Howe, they'd be getting pelters for appointing someone who'd never won anything.

oh right, so you can't justify/tell me why you dont want a German as England manager. Must be xenophobia then because that's genuinely all i can think of and you won't say otherwise.

I don’t know. That’s not what I’m asking. I’m asking CCH and you why you don’t want a German manager? Don’t think it’s that hard to answer considering you both seem a bit annoyed by it.

These are just the first steps down a slippery slope.
Before you know it the humble British banger will be supplanted by the schweinhund Bratwurst.
Then its auf wiedersehen pint of bitter and hallo 500ml of weissbier.
Where will it all end?

Truly bizzare. At least have the bollocks to stand by your convinctions.

Any way good luck Thomas. You’re gonna need it with the English fanbase

RTW you’re being a wee bit over the top here. I’m not fussed either way about Tuchel, but it’s undeniable that in footballing terms, a lot of England fans have, rightly or wrongly, seen Germany as our biggest rivals. As a result, there’s an initial sense by some that even potential success might be a bit undermined by being directed by someone from our rivals. That would make a German manager a different proposition to a Swede, or even an Italian (even though Italy have been much more of a spoiler team for England in the last 15 years or so)

Best to just let people have their adjustment period to it, and then see how it goes

Well that was easy wasn’t it? Someone able to articulate why they might not want a German in a role. I don’t really get why it would be a problem still but all I was asking was some articulation considering cch was very clear it’s definitely not xenophobia at play

If yhere was an English manager who was as qualified as Tuchel to take on the England job,he would have got it.There isn't. Any native coach would have been a punt and as such,Tuchel is a logical choice.

I think it would be more unpopular if those roles were reversed.
