Richie said he had no intention of leaving. Mentioned that the likes of Bristol R etc have smashed budgets etc but we all know this.

Neither of those things would seem to actually contradict the other claim.

Re: LOSC - Meet The Manager Evening - 14/10/24
I posted what I was told, it was a factual post and that’s how it came across to the person who attended and phoned me last night obviously others got the same vibe, RW said he would see out his contract because of his respect for NT that’s correct isn’t it, so it’s not made up or a lie but your interpretation seems different to other people who went. That’s not made up lies is it.Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 10:37 amIt is the negative slant put on it by others tbhCEB2ElectricBoogaloo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 10:34 am Neither of those things would seem to actually contradict the other claim.

I was there unlike you. As you no doubt know words can get twisted. Richie said he had no intention of leaving. Has a 3 year deal

As someone who doesn’t support Orient, I’ll be the voice of reason here - what’s missing is quotes. Every post so far is editorialising and asserts meaning or eventual outcomes.
I would bet good money that Wellens did not say that he’s leaving at the end of his contract, nor did he commit his future to the club.
Without being there, I would imagine that he was asked about his future plans and said something like “well I have a contract up to (whenever his contract is up to) and I’m
100% committed to do the best for this club while I’m here”

Re: LOSC - Meet The Manager Evening - 14/10/24
lifelongfan have you ever heard an interview with a football manager before? Do you think there are many examples of managers with half an eye on an exit letting the fans know that they’re off at first chance they get?

Find the idea of him talking about seeing out a contact having signed a relatively long term deal really odd. Going by his normal tone, can see him being frustrated by the insane economics of the division this year, but really doubt he was openly making it sound like it was giving him reason to leave.

Surely you get that there’s differing ways of saying such things?

Re: LOSC - Meet The Manager Evening - 14/10/24
So what I posted wasn't lies as you stated but a RW comment open to interpretation. I respect you were there but so was my mate who called me, he and seemingly quite a few others who attended have a different interpretation but it wasn't lies, that's correct isn't it.
I resent being called a liar.

Seeing a load of people who weren’t there telling the 1 person who was there that he’s got it wrong, Richie is off when his contract is up, is a bit weird.

As if he's going to say yes when asked at a fans forum, he signed a new contract in the summer but will leave us one day but hopefully he will see his contract out.Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 11:02 amwas asked are you leaving usMistadobalina wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 10:56 am Find the idea of him talking about seeing out a contact having signed a relatively long term deal really odd. Re: LOSC - Meet The Manager Evening - 14/10/24
No manager is going to reply “yeah I’m thinking about it tbh, no biggie”
So the point is that if a manager replies to a question about their future, there’s a kind of vocabulary of how it works - often the way a manager will disclose being completely committed is by talking of excitement about a project, of building something, of wanting to realise potential of a squad.
On the other hand, a manager who doesn’t want to over commit is usually sticking to facts - I have a contract and so I’m foreseeably here until it’s up.
Depending on the mood, I can totally see how one person might conclude “well he’s off if he gets a chance” and another might take it at face value as “phew he’s here for three years”

Hoover Attack - it’s not so much telling the guy that he’s misunderstood, as thinking it seems a bit much to call JES a liar, when at worst, all that’s happened is one person has taken a doom & gloom interpretation, and the other an overly credulous assumption that “I’m going nowhere” said by a manager to fans actually necessarily means that.

Maybe a little nod to the board that he needs a bigger budget

Probably a bit more than a little nod Story of O. I suspect RW wants to discuss it at every meeting with the board, It's very much a case of NT is damned if he increases the budget again given we know the financial situation but damned if he doesn't and we go down, who would own a football club eh?Story of O wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 11:16 am Maybe a little nod to the board that he needs a bigger budget

He can be very defensive when he thinks someone is doing Orient down, but this did seem out of order.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 10:28 amThanks OyinbO,OyinbO wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 10:16 amHave heard the same from more than one person who attended.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 10:04 am
Er I don’t do that.
I Was contacted by someone who went last night and who I asked to let me know what happened ,it’s what they told me.
No reason to dis believe them. Same info also being reported on the other board.
I wont hold my breath for an apology from lifelong but I’m not sure why he accused me of lying? Try to help out with a bit of info and that’s what you get, state of some posters on this board.
