The Coming Storm Podcast S2
I found episode 3 to be one of the most nuanced and thought provoking piece about the state of America. The first part is the normal stuff you hear, but the latter.........give it a listen, highly recommended.

Whacked on my vinyl of Blue - Joni Mitchell. Extraordinary record without one dud.

Something There by Michael Mantler. The great trumpet player, accompanied by Carla Bley, Steve Swallow, Mike Stern, and Nick Mason from PF.

Popscene live in concert. Songs sound a bit familiar, but they are sh*t really. Especially the guitarist when he has a go at singing.

Watched a bit of the guy guarvey archive thing and heard Judie Tzuke for the first time in my life. Good voice but largely forgotten?

About to start listening to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History epic; Blueprint For Armageddon.
Should just about finish it by the time St Poppy's Day arrives.

Some people run marathons. Others undertake other formidable feats of endurance. I listen to all six episodes of Blueprint For Armageddon.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 6:28 pmListened to the first ep of that about 4 times and never got past it

Re: What are you Listening To?
The Cure's new album, Songs of a Lost World.
Sounds a bit like Bloodflowers, which is no bad thing. Early impressions are that it won't compete with their 80s/90s best, but it's still a good album and incredible that this band are able to knock out something this decent.

Re: What are you Listening To?
Haven't heard it yet. Reviews seem a bit over the top. Unlikely they'd bring out their best work ever 50 years in, though no doubt it has merit.Dunners wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 8:36 am The Cure's new album, Songs of a Lost World.

Re: What are you Listening To?
Saw the current Dr Feelgood last bear and I cant disagree with your assessment. If they are going to use the name they are asking to be compared to the 'real' Dr Feelgood (Lee Brilleaux etc) and there is simply no comparison.

Re: What are you Listening To?
Listened to this episode with Graham Nash about the song Our House - really poignoinante and whilst being aware of this song, never fully appreciated it.
