Re: Nige has finally had enough of us
I mean we had one and I didn't end well. Trust the current owners to be a more diligent/bothered lot than Hearn, but getting someone mega rich in isn't some sort of magic fix.
My guess would be they try to find American money, basically a bigger version of what we currently have.

Re: Nige has finally had enough of us
I reckon they've left it 3 months too late to go to market for this. At tail end of last season you're selling the idea of a team just needing a little bit extra to go for the playoffs, now it's a relegation battle side struggling to stay upMistadobalina wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 6:48 pm Other than announcing we've appointed someone to seek the investment, this isn't really news is it? They've been pretty clear this is what they've looking to do for a while.
Good luck finding someone who is willing to underwrite a doubling of losses to give us a play off level budget and isn't a total nutcase. Seems like a hard proposition to sell seeing as we don't own a ground and have a small fanbase compared to most teams in the division.

It's October and the timescales they are working to are much bigger than a single season anyway.

I don't believe the search for investment started this week. Its been ongoing for about 18 months.gshaw wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 7:10 pmI reckon they've left it 3 months too late to go to market for this. The timing is irrelevant. We need someone willing to burn a minimum £5m+ EVERY year. Invest £30m in a new stadium and turn a deaf ear to the clueless fecking moaners.

Re: Nige has finally had enough of us
At least 3 months too late, I would say bearing in mind the known August transfer window this year and the very poor lack in the quality signings needed. I think they should have started before the end of last season to make sure we could bring in the quality of players so badly needed.gshaw wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 7:10 pmI reckon they've left it 3 months too late to go to market for this. Nige may want to establish us in the Championship with a new stadium but if he's not majority shareholder anymore then it wont be up to him. So what can he do? Just hope any investor keeps their word?

Could also mean a decent investment in Jan . Exactly, there is only so much strain a deep pocket can take. Many a successful businessman has done their bollox with a football club ‘Toy’. Maybe the writing is on the wall that enough is enough?Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 4:57 pm The losses were always going to become untenable and it’s increasingly clear the budget wasn’t keeping up with what was required to progress.

Re: Nige has finally had enough of us
The thing is other clubs are on the market too and any of those with tangible assets like a Freehold stadium will look a far better prospect than a leasehold building with leasehold flats dominating the pitch all essentially owned by a grinning multimillionaire with an obnoxious , arrogant son in tow. Indeed, I’m sure that any prospective purchaser will have to pass the scrutiny of the H’s to ensure their rent is paid on time and any buyer is not another weirdo like that bloke from Albania/Italy or wherever he was from.

He sold his shares to Coley who recently lost £9m to Vitesse. Now Eagle Investments are actively looking to sell the club.
What a coincidence

No. I will fight it tooth and tail. We are a Community club. Get used to it.
If Nigel had one drop of Community spirit in him he would sell to the fans.

But what is Nigel actually selling? I mean, there’s the brand name “little Leyton Orient” but what are the assets any new buyer will acquire, apart from debt and more debt?Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 10:32 pmLet me set your mind at rest.Chicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 7:00 pm Is it really feasable that we can obtain a multi billionare to bankroll our future or is that just a pipedream?

Re: Nige has finally had enough of us
I know the thread title is a bit tongue in cheek, but I don't think Nigel has had enough of us in as much that he simply cannot see how we can go any further at this moment in time. A stadium with the potential to increase our capacity - a slightly different story.
