Club have said a number of times new investment coming in is completely linked to identifying a site for a new ground. That is going to be a complicated, lengthy process that unfortunately doesn't lend itself to public updates because it will be sensitive work.

The upshot to that could be transformative for the club and is a much bigger deal than being a striker short this season. It'd remove the hard ceiling on growth we currently have, short of lucking out with a benign mega investor who's happy to swallow losses of tens a millions a season whilst we're hemmed into a small capacity stadium that can't be expanded.

Likewise, framing a new training ground as some kind of indulgence feels silly, it's an investment in the next few decades of the club. None of us know how shoddy our current facilities are or what the potential benefit would be to a significant improvement. It's a judgment call being made by people who have achieved success with us so far and know the clubs situation far better than we do (for example, cost of renting vs paying down the borrowing on a site we own, sporting advantage better facilities offer, potential for improving the academy etc).
So if and until the club identify a new ground, get the relevant permissions etc we will not be in a position to afford the quality of players needed to get promotion to the Championship and sustain a stay there. Meanwhile the club charge unrealistic prices for home games, home gates drop and we wither on the vine .The next 5 to 10 years looks really exciting (not).
Only one solution, new massive investment now before the rot sets in and we somehow manage to stay in League 1 or get relegated .
The future does not look promising.

I am supporting the right club and have been for over 66 years, would never support any other club.
It’s time for the owners to walk the walk , not just talk the talk and support the supporters.

The club will lose a record £4 million plus this season any new investment Will be linked to build a new stadium (if it ever happens) the owners have walked the walk saved us from going under and got us promoted twice, they have told us exactly how it is listen to Taylor Marshall on the Outlook Podcast for a reality check about finances

Perhaps instead of coming up with crap sound bites you should be the one walking the walk and get behind Travis and co rather than constantly moaning we don’t spend more money, you may have a fan for 66 years but you have learned nothing in 66 years.

Out of those 66 years, I'd assume at least half of them haven't looked much more promising than the place we are in now. Last season was our 4th best finish for the past three decades.

I have listened to Taylor Marshall on the Outlook Podcast and his statement on the reality of finances at our club and they are depressing and clearly nothing has been put in place having known for a very long time the cost and reality of getting promoted to the Championship.
It was obvious to me as soon as the rules on all seating came into existence that even with capacity crowds we would not be able to compete and sustain a place in the Championship.
I am so grateful for NT for rescuing the club he did an amazing job for us but realistically he has nowhere near the finances to get us promoted to the Championship and be able to sustain that position.Thats why if NT had ambitions for the club to get into the Championship he must have known that forward planning required a massive investors to be in place to realise that ambition. With new rules coming that will restrict how much the club can spend it was essential that those investors were needed sooner rather than later.I believe that without massive new investment before those new rules come in we will never be able to afford the players needed to get into the Championship and sustain a place there.Yes if and when we move to a new stadium the club will potentially have much more revenue to spend but in 5 to 10 years our club may have been relegated or at best stagnated in League 1 with falling home gates that appears to be a likely reality.
I have been behind the club for 66 years so I think I have well and truly walked the walk, it’s time for the club to now walk the walk .
The one thing I have learned in 66 years is that the earlier years were great but the latter years have not lived up to my expectation of returning to the Championship (old Division 2 ) where they were in those earlier years.
Up the O’s.

No one will invest in a club losing £4 million a season we won’t get investment on the football side. When/if we get new investors they will want return on the stadium if we have increased attendances.

I’m surprised you are shocked at the state of our finances our existence has been littered with financial crisis after financial crisis I believe Eagle Investments are closing in on nearly 20 million in debt. It’s taken that to get us to and maintain L1 football at least until now.

So next time you have a little melt down put yourself in Nigel’s shoes the company are million in debt and trying to do their best only to have lots of ignorant fans calling on him to stump up more money that we haven’t got.

The club have said they are looking for new investors. If you think it is that easy, why don't you get some in

If only we had a recent example of what could happen when an owner does no due diligence on a new investor claiming to have huge amounts of cash to spend...

What about all our current investors who happily invested in a club losing £4m a year? They would. They did.

We were losing nowhere near as much when they came in, as you well know. The investments were to cover capital projects not playing budgets.
