They decided to stick with ONE manager (we would have won promotion if Ian Hendon had kept his job ).

Re: Bury Fc
Sad day for Bury. I anticipate other clubs will follow suit in years to come. Orient were not that far away when you think of it. The club has to try and live within it means as best as possible. The owners have to be prudent.

Macclesfield were promoted from non league when struggling to pay their players, and just about survived last year in league two, unless I'm wrong are no better off this year. How?
Re: Bury Fc
Maybe a bit to far Stephen Dawson to travel, but it would be good if we offered him a chance to train with the O's.StillSpike wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 4:50 pmAwesome Dawson - always thought he was a good man. I do hope he gets himself sorted out in some way. Criminal that the guy has to sell his house.o-no wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 4:46 pm This from the Guardian.....
A Bury FC player speaks. Speaking to Talksport earlier this morning, Bury’s 33-year-old midfielder Stephen Dawson seemed resigned to having to sell his house.
“I’ve been onto the mortgage adviser this morning because that is the end,” he said. “There’s no two ways about it now, that is it for me.
“I’ve played my whole career and put everything into my house and my kids to give them a start in life when they are 18, whether that be a deposit for a house or money for college.
“I don’t have the fancy cars or the fancy clothes as I was never in a position to earn the thousands and thousands the really good players earn.”
The week before last, Dawson and Bury owner Steve Dale had a frank and bad-tempered exchange of views on the radio station, in which Dale openly rubbished the notion that Dawson might have to sell his home to make ends meet.
Feel for the guy - I remember when he was with us at Theo's Christmas Party one year, my daughter was desperate to win some piece of tat in the kids dancing competition. She didn't win, but Dawson was so impressed with her efforts, he gave her a fiver (which sounds a bit creepy, but really wasn't at all). He didn't have to do that. I'd very much like to give him his fiver back now.

Re: Bury Fc
Sorry to sound harsh, but why can't he get a contract with another club? I know he's had a lot of injury problems since he left us, so he probably wouldn't have got a new contract at Bury anyway. Unfortunately that's life.o-no wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 4:46 pm This from the Guardian.....

Surely he could still play National league level at least and earn a decent wage or am I missing something here?

Re: Bury Fc
I know deadlines came and went but surely if the EFL have the power to cut clubs of at the knees they surely have the power to reverse that decision if there is a very feasable deal with the money being shown as there and available, which I do believe has come along. If that had been us we would have been clamouring for the EFL to do so, so let us call for the EFL to suspend their decision, look into the new offer and if it is ok then lift the expulsion and re-instate Bury to the league. If not then let that be the end of it and let whoever wants to bring Bury back via the lower leagues.
Come on EFL do the right thing for football and swallow your pride.

Don't buy that at all I'm afraid. They can say whatever they want now about a possible credible buyer. It doesn't mean anything would have come of it given the financial mess and the EFL couldn't let this continue to drag out.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 7:38 pm Interesting statement just released by Bury FC

The community seem to have been trying to drive Dale out of the club... with it seems good reasonEveryone connected with Bury Football Club were shocked, and disappointed with the EFL’s decision to expel this wonderful, historic, community driven Club from the Football league.

Re: Bury Fc
Many times in the past, people have been saved from the gallows when the authorities have been presented with new evidence.
The EFL should have looked into the situation that somebody had the wherewithall to provide a future for Bury FC. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the EFL would have let us slide in to obscurity without a second thought. If it were not for

Re: Bury Fc
Already have. How much longer were the league meant to give them seing as it's almost September? We saw they gave Bolton an extended deadline so it's not just that they were being militant. If they felt this was realistic they would also have given Bury an extension.WickfordO wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 8:42 pmRead this!Byways1 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 5:43 pmGet real.WickfordO wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 4:47 pm I know deadlines came and went but surely if the EFL have the power to cut clubs of at the knees they surely have the power to reverse that decision if there is a very feasable deal with the money being shown as there and available, which I do believe has come along. Also happy to do a minute's applause for Bury but sod doing it in the 27th minute because they were kicked out on the 27 August and it's 27 years since a club were expelled. This sort of thing is getting ever tackier and more ridiculous. What about in the 7th minute for the amount this Brazilian pastor was rumoured to want to pay? Or the 8th minute for the number of letters in Gigg Lane?

Re: Bury Fc
What sort of precedent would that set people can basically come in wreck a club and have no real punishment. I thought where they would be placed was harsh so maybe a standard 3 relegations for these reformations would be apt. So in Bury's case they go into the NLN. If this was the case why didn't t&t let us go to pot for a season and then just reapply for lge2.Lovejoy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 5:31 pm Bury: EFL members to vote on club's request to be in League Two next year.

Re: Bury Fc
Cannot see how clubs can vote on tearing up the rule book. Bury would have been relegated this season, no squad and minis 12 points. Why just relegated them one division? I have nothing against Bury just don't see how some rules can just be waived.

Re: Bury Fc
TBH, I think the clubs will vote against them. When Aldershot and Maidstone went broke, they had to start again from the bottom outside the EFL .
