Just need to convert those chances. Even Lemmings has improved.

Well Forde is not doing too great at Rovers either. Richie knew how to get the best out of Ruel and Forde but he is not getting a return in goals from Kelman as of yet, same does for O Neil and Dan A this season.
Haven't seen where BR are playing Forde but one thing to remember he was brought in at Orient as a striker and wasn't much cop in that role. Moved out wide he was a lot more effective.

Good shout though, we should have signed him instead of Kelman.

Hoskins, May and Charles are all significantly older and more experienced than Kelman. It’s not a fair comparison especially when you think about fees and wages and the fact that Kelman is effectively costing us nothing or very little

Imo your wrong age has got nothing to do with it there’s plenty of young strikers small in stature that know where and when to receive and score goals (Evan’s Ballard) they have natural instincts. Great we have Kelman and a few others in the squad that are cheap. If Kelman was that good he would be in the QPR team or they wouldn’t have let him go in the first place. We need some quality not quantity.

Richie has already talked about how Charlie has to improve in certain areas. He mentioned the fact that he’s always on the move is something he needs to work on.
Age has everything to do with it. He’s still learning the game and how to fit into our system. Fans want things instantly. I agree we need another striker
But for our salary limitations Charlie is a good player.

The only reason we want things instantly is because we’re currently 20th and facing possibly a relegation threatening season

We’re 20th after less than 10 games. And there’s nothing we can do until
Jan anyway

In Ling and Travis speak they take the 10-15 game mark as an indicator of progress so being in the bottom 8 at that point will speak volumes.

As you say though damage already done with the poor summer window and after last January haven't got much faith we'll improve much in that one either.

What doesn't bode well today two of our subs are new recruits and seen as poor options and Warrington not even deemed good enough for the bench.

Ruel or Forde doesn't have to be the answer but they scored goals between them and the big bit is they were in the game, the defenders knew if they were there, Kelman is the easiest striker to play against in the league and CB's dream

Eventually they will pay for themselves and will be a worthwhile investment.

Diallang Jaiyesimi and Lewis Warrington so far haven't proven they've been worthwhile investments, neither have half the loanees.

By the time the Solar panels have paid for themselves we could be relegated, lost RW and have lost loads of ticket paying supporters that have got sick of the lack of serious investment in our club but never mind the Solar panels will have paid for themselves.

Still paying for last year's mistakes too, literally with Pigott still here in monetary terms covering (probably) half his sizeable wages.

Don’t overlook this year’s mistake either. Giving Pratley a 12 month extension deal was a waste.

Dont have to have a massive lump at all.
Bonne was a wonderful centre forward, hard working and holding the ball up and scored quite a few goals as well.
After leaving Orient he did very well in his first season at Charlton but it went wrong for him when he was transferred for a big fee to QPR.
Don’t know what has gone wrong with Bonne. Reading on the Southend forum today he was slated for yesterday’s performance. Has scored for them yet and fans saying he is not fit, does not care and is not worth his salary. Mind you they are also now saying the
same about Moncur.

This . Also don’t forget we’re probably still paying a big whack of Moncur’s wages as well. Put that money together and there’s your wages for a decent striker.

Sotiriou, Drinan, Forde, Piggot, Edwards, Agyei-Adu- where have their wages gone then?

That’s not really fair, is it?

Edwards and Dan Adjei2 were not here at the same time S Drinnan.

Forde was not played as a striker. You could argue he’s been replaced by Donley or DJ (or even ONeill at a stretch).

We stand 19th in the table, 5 points behind 18th place, not looking good is it?

I'm beginning to think, will this tinpot club ever get it right?

Forde scored yesterday, and got rave reviews for his overall game. That is the first time though - he's been building up match fitness until now. We've only one real Number 9, who has been injured, so Forde has been one of several 'attackers' without being target men (our late signing O'Donkor might also turn out to be a Number 9)

Sotiriou has been used in a similar role, and is match fit now though probably wasn't for the first 5-6 games of the season. He's been industrious, but probably a middling performer to date
