Re: Richie Wellens interview post Lincoln
The build up from the back is painful to watch, so boring .Back, sideways, sideways, sideways, back , sideways the main reason I havent attended a match all season . Its so obvious we need a proven goalscorer that scores goals on a regular basis for us , wasted money on Solar Panels instead, totally wrong priorities.

He has the same complaint, too much passing backwards and sideways and not taking a chance. Why can’t he get us out of it?

Why can’t the players take more responsibility?Story of O wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 7:02 pm He has the same complaint, too much passing backwards and sideways and not taking a chance. Why can’t he get us out of it?

Sounds like the players don’t listen to him, if that’s what he’s telling them.Story of O wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 7:02 pm He has the same complaint, too much passing backwards and sideways and not taking a chance. Why can’t he get us out of it?
I’m sure they’re also told “ Don’t give the ball away “ but you have to take a chance with a ‘percentage ball ‘ at some point.
Just seems the way modern football is to me at times…….a bit boring to watch.

I remember the days of we're waiting for a striker... Here's Sam Parkin.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 6:52 pm The build up from the back is painful to watch, so boring .Back, sideways, sideways, sideways, back , sideways the main reason I havent attended a match all season . Re: Richie Wellens interview post Lincoln
Wellens needs to get out of vanity mode, possession is possession is means sod all without a result, he needs to find ways to win games, that's a manager job, he needs to bite his tongue drop his ideals for at least a period and get the team scoring goals and winning games again

You go into a season with a lacklustre frontline,
you ain’t going to be winning games..
You can huff and puff and have the best build
up play in league one but if there’s no one in
and around the box no one is sticking it in the
onion bag …
We've been sold short by the the club, owners,
DoF, management with inflated admission costs
with a lacklustre squad ..
143 years of Leyton Orient history and all we are
now is a feeder club in the loan market,
you ain’t going to be winning games..

Re: Richie Wellens interview post Lincoln
He sort of called out Kelman for some poor play for the first time. I wonder if he’ll consider dropping him? Might do him some good. Dan A up front, O’Neill back on the left, one of Graham/DJ/Obeiro on the right for a few games

He sounds fed up and frustrated with a squad lacking in guile. Too many inexperienced youth players, too many loanees with no skin in the game.

Re: Richie Wellens interview post Lincoln
We’ve long been called the Ornaments and we move forward like a set of statues.
The constant left-right-back passing is a consequence of players not creating spaces. They stand still thinking ‘I wonder who is going to receive the ball. Pray it’s not me cos I’m rooted to the fecking turf!’
I’m not, not advocating hoofball but RW needs to instil some individual accountability and passion.
We seem constrained and sh!t-scared of doing anything.

Re: Richie Wellens interview post Lincoln
Could RW just fine all the back 4 if they do more than one sideways pass?
Ye gods, we’re losing, time is running out so let’s pass it across the back line one more time.
We desperately need a decent goalie and a couple more strikers.

Re: Richie Wellens interview post Lincoln
I don't think I've ever seen Richie more disappointed after a defeat . In my opinion we're now paying the price for not brining in a half decent striker during the Summer . All we really have is Agyei . play him up front against Northampton , not Kelman .
Re: Richie Wellens interview post Lincoln
Why not just try two down the middle upfront from the start of a game.
Everyone who has played down the middle on their own has struggled since the start of last season.
The Manager and since Embleton have been obsessed with having wide forwards

It's what ultimately could cost us our League One status .

It's worth a try because what we're doing at the moment isn't working . Then again , it could be as simple as our players are not good enough no matter what formation we play .

Re: Richie Wellens interview post Lincoln
That's an XI, now who is coming on to provide fresh legs or challenge the starting lineup? Also of that lot 4 of the pros are CBs and we can only realistically play 2 of them at a time.Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 3:10 pmBeckles Simpson Ball Dan A Dan H Cooper Clare Cooper Kelman Currie Tom James etc are hardly kids.
Also we're already seeing Clare being played when not fully fit as the other midfield options Warrington Obiero Brown aren't performing. Doesn't bode well for the months ahead when injuries and suspensions start to bite.
Cooper so good he's in there twice, maybe that's the solution sneak an extra player in with the same name on the shirt 12 v 11 we may have a chance
