RW interview
“We had enough chances to win the game” “ we had 4 or 5 good chances “ “ not clinical enough in the final third “ how many times does he say that whilst scratching his head. Is he a bad coach of course he’s not but he’s becoming a little stale imo. We have no central striker of quality and he has to shoulder the blame and look at other options. He’s not giving Dan A a run in one position and sticking with Kelman each game which is a bad mistake. We haven’t got many or if any options up front so play a formation that plays two. Now all the clappers will say “MB want 442” not necessarily but if that what it takes to put the bloody ball in the net then the end justifies the means. Personally as bad as they playing I would have put Kelman on the right and kept Dan A up front simply because we have nobody else that’s capable at this level.

Re: RW interview
If we are missing chances, which we are then I can’t see how that supports your view that the formation is wrong. It means we are missing chances. Two up front doesn’t follow that we will make or score more chances. As R W says we could have got five last night.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 11:26 am “We had enough chances to win the game” “ we had 4 or 5 good chances “ “ not clinical enough in the final third “ how many times does he say that whilst scratching his head. Re: RW interview
But we didn’t and we didn’t against Wrexham,Bolton,Birmingham and so on, we can’t and won’t put the ball in the net whilst we have Kelman as a lone striker he’s better wide if he has to play. We are simply not strong in that position and playing two up front especially at home enhances the possibility of at least getting more players in and around the penalty box. If we are making chances as pointed out then there has to be more options in and around the box. Why bring on Graham to cross the ball when there’s nobody in there.DrWindy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 11:33 amIf we are missing chances, which we are then I can’t see how that supports your view that the formation is wrong. Kelman played on the left at times last night and looked poor to me. He scored against Bolton and missed a really decent chance against Wrexham in the first minute.
It didn’t work last night, although I thought we were ok first twenty minutes.
We need to take our chances. Cooper has missed from four yards. I’m not sure the formation was wrong. Agyei got through and pass to Galbraith was blocked by Currie.
Exeter had two chances. They took one. They will struggle this year.

Re: RW interview
Look Doc, it seems I’m anti Orient I’m not otherwise I wouldn’t have a ST, that goal that Kelman got against Bolton he was playing as a right sided forward. Watch May,Hoskins Ballard there all of similar stature, they run off the shoulder, come to the ball, give and go, Kelman waits for the CB and watches where they are and backs in, never runs to or off the ball at angles. I want like every other supporter wants,to see us win comfortably against teams like Exeter and not throw away golden chances for bad decisions

Re: RW interview
I don’t think you’re anti Orient at all. I agree Kelman backs in but I think that is the type of ball he gets. Very rarely gets a ball down the channels.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 12:09 pm Look Doc, it seems I’m anti Orient I’m not otherwise I wouldn’t have a ST, that goal that Kelman got against Bolton he was playing as a right sided forward. I think we’re all frustrated. Last night wasn’t good viewing and we should be turning over teams like Exeter.
I just don’t think it’s as bad as some do. We need to improve. We have a half decent squad. Agreed we are light up front.

Cheers Doc, yes like you I’m very frustrated especially as I took a mate (spuds ST holder) to the game for the first time and had to apologiseDrWindy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 12:16 pmI don’t think you’re anti Orient at all. Sorry Doc but I don't think our continuing weakness as a goalscoring side is simply down to us missing chances. It's also the type of chances created that we are often lacking.DrWindy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 11:33 amIf we are missing chances, which we are then I can’t see how that supports your view that the formation is wrong. Re: RW interview
We can't go the season with just two strikers, he must know this.
Kelman and Agyei are both good quality, i think we'd score more if we attacked quicker, our build up is too slow, we spend too long passing it sideways outside the box looking for openings, just get it in the box.

We just need to be a little more clinical. We could have battered Exeter the other night and I think we are all in agreement we didn’t play well. Personally I don’t think we over analyse it. It was an off night.

I don't think it was an off night on Tuesday. As someone has already indicated there is too much chopping and changing with the players and formation. Too much emphasis on midfield and not enough in the last third.

Re: RW interview
Perkins has been a horrific signing and without that 3rd option we're really struggling. Having said that our problem seems to be composure in the final third, heavy touches and wrong choices.

Don’t make any changes to personnel or formation and Richie would be accused of being too rigid/ having no plan B.
Some people just love to moan.

I thought Warrington was awful and had already said to others that he had to come off. I know he needs games to get up to speed but he was so far off it.

Re: RW interview
You are all missing the point (especially happy clapper hover) Wellens constantly brings on 3/4 subs nearly every game which stops the cohesion of the team imo . On Tuesday he brought on his usual 3 around the 60/65 minute mark when at that point we had them under the cosh. It completely destroyed the Rhythm. Why bring on (one trick pony) Graham to cross the ball(which was poor) with little or nobody in the box especially when he had taken our tallest striker off
