Re: Obiero- whats happened?
No complaints with any of ball, brown or Clare starting ahead of him. But he should be ahead of Warrington and Donlley and ONeill based on form, whether that’s in the team or on the bench.

Re: Obiero- whats happened?
Something has to have happened, whether that’s a one off incident or not doing it in training.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 12:18 am Something has happened. He's gone from starter to ostracised.
Clare was still feeling the injury from Saturday, Ball and Brown both looked understandably leggy, Warrington is miles off the pace, Ollie O’nonanymous, Galbraith shipped out to right back for a bit, yet still he doesn’t get any game time.
We were crying out for his energy and willingness to get on the ball last night.

Re: Obiero- whats happened?
The problem is the team seems to change every week, there is something for consistency, Obeiro went from first eleven to not even making the bench, not just him but others, it's all a bit all over the place

Re: Obiero- whats happened?
Wellens has made it pretty clear that we needed experience in midfield. Since Obiero last played we have won 2 , drawn 2 , lost one. Whilst he was playing we lost 4. It’s simple enough.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 9:26 amSomething has to have happened, whether that’s a one off incident or not doing it in training.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 12:18 am Something has happened. Obiero lost us four games? Thought it was butterfingers we were blaming?

Players were missing last night. He has to play someone. He clearly thinks the others are currently infront of ObieroHoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 10:55 amWarrington started last night.George M wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 10:09 amWellens has made it pretty clear that we needed experience in midfield. And Donley is clearly a better player than Obiero otherwise Tottenham and the fans wouldn’t rate him so highly.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 10:57 am Donley started on Saturday and came on for 30 mins last night.

All the evidence from the performance Obeiro has put in this season and that Warrington and Donley had put in meant in my mind, Obeiro was ahead of all of them.George M wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 11:05 amPlayers were missing last night. Ah well, if spurs fans rate a player they've never seen play so highly, I'll shut up.George M wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 11:06 amAnd Donley is clearly a better player than Obiero otherwise Tottenham and the fans wouldn’t rate him so highly.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 10:57 am Donley started on Saturday and came on for 30 mins last night.

Re: Obiero- whats happened?
They have seen him play and he is highly rated. We were pleased to take him and you can see he has quality on the ball. Didn’t tell you to shut up. I’m giving my take. You can give yours. A good player is either born with talent or is intelligent enough to make clever decisions on the pitch having been well coached. If you have neither of those attributes and you are lucky , decision making on the ball at speed can be picked up with game time and experience.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 11:23 amAh well, if spurs fans rate a player they've never seen play so highly, I'll shut up.George M wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 11:06 amAnd Donley is clearly a better player than Obiero otherwise Tottenham and the fans wouldn’t rate him so highly.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 10:57 am Donley started on Saturday and came on for 30 mins last night.
We were in a position where we couldn’t afford to allow a young player to learn game by game.

Re: Obiero- whats happened?
But we are with Donley and Warrington? (And in a separate position, with Pipkins?)
You've written lots of words but it doesn't correlate to the reality of the situation. I suspect there's been some sort of negative reaction to him being removed from the starting line up then from the matchday squad altogether.
But as above, I hope you're right and it's just a case of us needing experienced players like Ball, Clare, er, Donley and Warrington in our current position...

Re: Obiero- whats happened?
I do worry Wellens messes our youth around. Weird to start him in the first 4 games and then he can’t even make the bench. He’s pretty versatile too.
Sweeney has had a similar journey. Plays well for 2 games, has a bad one and isn’t seen for 3 months. I’m not saying either should be starters but we should have some consistency with them and their development

Re: Obiero- whats happened?
You may be correct about a fall out or bad attitude in training. On your point about Donley and Warrington , Donley only started against Wrexham and he handled a big game really well. Warrington only started last night. Both are different style players than Obiero. I like Obiero . Just don’t think he is what we need right now

Re: Obiero- whats happened?
Donley is a good footballer and somewhere will light it up and move up and up, you can see on the ball he has quality
