Exeter Not on TV for UK fans

Post by Cheshunto »

Tomorrow’s match seems to only be available for Overseas Fans………Is this a way of trying to get more fans to attend the match rather than paying normal £10 fee and watching from home ??

I’d recommend using a VPN to get around that issue, if you haven’t got access to Sky Sports plus.

Yes, I know what you’re saying but I would rather be there and as a Season Ticket holder will attend in person.
However, normally I think the match would be available to all fans as it’s a Tuesday night game, but not tomorrow.
As others have said, Sky are in charge now and we are at saturation point with the amount of televised football being shown.
Who can blame fans who stay at home, when clubs are charging them £25-35 for a ticket plus transport and food.
It’s absolute madness ……….

"From the 2024/25 season onward, this new deal with Sky Sports effectively replaces the EFL’s domestic video streaming option provided via iFollow and club streaming services."

Its either attend the game, pay for audio, use a VPN, or wait a day and watch for free. Using a VPN (not an illegal stream), rather than paying Sky, provides additional income to the club, although the club it not allowed to suggest it. Does annoy me that if you use Orient live to watch the match after the event without knowing the score, you can't help seeing the score when you start the video.

Think the clubs website usually puts games on for free after it's been played.

It seems madness to me to increase ticket prices when we are making it easier for fans to watch on TV, whether it be via VPN or on SKY. I thought we were trying to encourage fans to come to the stadium to eat “Nigel’s Grub” and watch the game live.
Surely the club understand that taking a few quid from SKY is crazy when even Richie has commented that he’s surprised that more fans aren’t in the stadium.

Using a VPN works great, cheaper than sky as well, £10 for the match and better coverage rather than £15 from Sky.

Virtual private networks (vpns) are nowhere near as techy as they sound, worth getting one so you can watch 3pm kick off away as well.

Nord VPN is the big company that offer it, you just pay for a subscription, download it and then once you turn it on, pretend to be in another country. Perfectly legal and means you get orient's specific service and the money presumably still goes to the club.

It is not illegal to use a VPN to stream geo restricted content.

For some reason, there are multiple people dedicated to spreading this falsehood that it's illegal to use a VPN to bypass geo-restricted content. This is false.

There are only a few countries that have laws about VPNs: China, Belarus, Russia, North Korea, Iraq, Uganda, Turkmenistan, Turkey, UAE, Oman

In all other countries, use of a VPN is legal. Using a VPN is however against the EFL rules. I'm unsure whether the clubs like the rule, I suspect it's there at Sky's insistence.

I think the point is that this all persuades fans not to attend games whether they’re watching Legally or illegally.
It’s getting quite expensive to a guy and his son say ( Casual fans) to rock up and buy tickets to watch an O’s game.
Hardly think we need a bigger stadium when we struggle to fill the current one.

Pretty sure the game is on the Sky Sports Plus streaming platform. I use Nowtv and it's on.

I'm not, I live in Ireland. Anyone else needs to take a long hard look at themselves ;)
