I like planes. When the weather is nice, I sometimes set up with some camping chairs in the Gaunts End field at the end of runway 22 at Stansted. It's a great spot for a picnic. If the planes are landing from that direction, you get to watch them fly right at you and then go over your head at c100 feet before touching down.

You can easily read the serial numbers and enter them into your spreadsheet, marking their departure airport and any earlier flights that particular aircraft may have made that day. Once you have the serial number, you can get all the info you need from Flightradar24. Most planes will fly three routes a day, so you quickly draw a complex map of the flight network that is linked to the airport.

It's a shame it's mainly B737s landing, but you do get the occasional B777s and A330s for some widebody action. And, there's even some B747s hauling freight. I did once get myself there for Airforce One, but the police wouldn't let me and the other saddos into the field.

In the last two years I’ve started growing vegetables. This years not been great but I never thought I’d get as big a buzz as seeing some seeds I sewed come up. It’s also genuinely mental that you sew one kernel of corn and this 7ft plant grows from it and you get actual cobs of corn. Blows my mind.

Weirdly it’s the build up rather than the tv. With a 3 year old and doing all the cooking I see about two shows over Xmas.

I just about remember as a toddler that the All Aggro was our first family car.

Until one winter, when we drove it over to Ireland. Heading down some winding country lane, the steering and brakes failed* when we hit some ice, and we did a Dukes of Hazzard-style jump over a ditch and into a field. The car actually landed neatly on a tree stump. It was soon after replaced by something far more classier. We got a Cortina.

*In those days** in Ireland, it wasn't exactly frowned upon or even seen as unwise to have a few pints of Guinness on the ferry over from Holyhead. But everybody did seem to agree that blaming the notoriously bad build-quality of the car made far more sense.

**Which, by my calculations, would have been in the late 80s.

I visited Athens once (which was amazing), but a 2 week holiday to Greece with week 1 sat on a balcony looking out to the sea engrossed in the app, & week 2 on a Greek island off the tourist trail, swimming in the sea & having beers in the quayside taverna would be bliss...

Chances are though the steering and brakes did fail and this was unrelated to Guinness. My Marina is a very rare 1.8 GT version which is basically an MGB under a Marina Coupe body and I can assure you that turning left or right above 25mph is a terrifying experience.
