Re: Huddersfield (h) 12 Oct
The club were still advertising this fixture Tuesday on the electronic boards around the ground.
If they know there is a good chance it will postponed because we have players likely to be called up for International duty they shouldn't do this and put something on their website.

Re: Huddersfield (h) 12 Oct
Why would they give a toss about supporters buying tickets that they then couldn't use, or had to try and resell through the ticket exchange, thus generating a few more quid?North Stand Dave wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 1:20 pm The club were still advertising this fixture Tuesday on the electronic boards around the ground.

Yes, I thought the same thing,North Stand Dave wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 1:20 pm The club were still advertising this fixture Tuesday on the electronic boards around the ground.

On Tuesday night the club were advertising “Get your tickets now” when they know that there is every chance that this will be another Tuesday night game sometime later in the season.
I reckon many will carefully consider whether a season ticket is worth it………….Many can’t make midweek games for various reasons.
I would say the actual crowd on Tuesday night was no more than 5,500

What are they meant to do? Not advertise a game that is currently scheduled? They'd be criticised for not promoting it and maximising attendances if they didn't.

Be an interesting call for the club. The board need to decide if they think more fans and therefore more money outweighs having a few less players and considering Richie is very concerned with the number of fans in the ground, he might have to think about it too.

So will many I think. The powers that be don’t get it do they. Football attendance is traditionally a Saturday 3.00pm tradition at our level. Bugger about with that all you want but accept the consequences.

How is it an alternative? There have always been midweek games. I take it you did not go to the Peterborough play off games.

More a question of us and teams at our level having enough quality players that international call ups are a genuine consideration. Nothing to do with the sky deal.

Re: Huddersfield (h) 12 Oct
I am referring to the abandonment of a significant number of 3.00pm Saturday kick offs. Of course that is to do with the Sky deal as well as International Call ups. I said on here weeks ago that attendances will suffer because of the cumulative effects. I still think they will.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 7:12 pmMore a question of us and teams at our level having enough quality players that international call ups are a genuine consideration. Totally Agree
Need some kind of ‘deal’ on ticket prices if the game is on TV and on a Tuesday night to get good numbers of fans along.
Not fair maybe on ST holders, like me, but there were loads of empty seats on Tuesday and it will likely be the same next Tuesday for the Exeter game.

My latest email from Orient suggests that the next 3 homes games after Wrexham are Exeter Colchester and Rotherham ignoring the Huddersfield game in between. Not sure that this officially means the game is off.

Re: Huddersfield (h) 12 Oct
I'd still go to a play off game as it's big enough to make the effort. But our Tuesday night attendances have always been lower, it's no good for kids and a lot of people struggle with work. Not made easier by the extra traffic and less parking than in the past. If thats an issue or not I don't know.Orient Punxx wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 2:48 amCorrectStory of O wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 6:53 pmHow is it an alternative? There have always been midweek games. Obviously its bad luck all these pointless international breaks falling on our home games (that 3rd div games are called off as a couple of cloggers are sitting on a bench for a 100th ranked nation is mental while the Premier League carry on during the African cup of nations is a different thread.) But presuming the ones change as expected have we really had this many Tuesday evening league games before Christmas before? I'm sure we've had some spells after bad weather post Xmas pudding and hopefully that won't happen with the new pitch.
The big thing for me is at least they're all on SKY so when in the past I'd have schleped down now I can watch in the comfort of my own home, with a better view, better drinks and less bellends to sit around. I can't see renewing our season tickets after this year.

Porter mentioned in the programme that it’s frustrating that the first three international breaks are all home games meaning we lose a lot of revenue. He then suggested the league cup should be played on those weekends…

I think the logic was that prem teams play their b teams any way. But I agree, it was all a bit of a nonsense rambleStory of O wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 12:41 pmMakes no senseRich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 9:34 am Porter mentioned in the programme that it’s frustrating that the first three international breaks are all home games meaning we lose a lot of revenue. And I presume we would not ask for a cancellation as it is just a cup match
