Coldplay
Daughter wants to see Coldplay. I bought an Album which got you a link to a presale. Only when I log in to find find their was a no purchase option anyway.
Is this the norm?
Is their any other what are basically scams to get you to buy something almost under false pretences that bands operate to get people to buy tickets?

Re: Coldplay
Did you buy the album from a reputable source?
Usually presales are at scheduled times, so you can only access the booking portal at the allocated time and date. Outside of that time window the link will not work.
Also, presales are generally a bit of a scam. The promoter will allocate a selection of tickets for that sale, and often they're not even in the best location. These will then sell out within seconds of the presale portal opening, which then contributes to the rush and demand when the remainder go on general sale.
Buying concert tickets of big-name acts/bands nowadays is awful and I've pretty much stopped even trying.

Re: Coldplay
Yep got it from the coldplay website only to find in the small print theirs actually a no purchase option at the bottom in the small print. So the world and their dog has a code.for a band that preaches ethics think it's pretty disgusting.Dunners wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 11:44 am Did you buy the album from a reputable source?

Re: Coldplay
No interest in seeing them but genuinely intrigued by how the UK leg of their world tour consists solely of 8 nights at Wembley and 2 more at the second biggest rugby league ground in Hull.

Re: Coldplay
Good spot. Given the density of population in the Northern region is weighted to the West (Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool), motorway congestion and lack of reliable public transport, it will be easier for most Northerners to get on the train to London instead.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 12:37 pm No interest in seeing them but genuinely intrigued by how the UK leg of their world tour consists solely of 8 nights at Wembley and 2 more at the second biggest rugby league ground in Hull.
Also, it looks like the UK dates are the only European dates on the world tour.

Re: Coldplay
Ah, it appears that Coldplay have sacked their manager, Dave Holmes, for mismanagement and bad decisions costing them £millions.
Craven park is a bad decision.

Re: Coldplay
Apparently he ordered 5 million coloured tour t shirts. When they opened the boxes, they were all yellow.
By the way I like Coldplay and would love to see them live.

It was the boxes full of a bulk order of Panda that finally got him his P45.

Re: Coldplay
Are they using dynamic pricing?
I'm sure this has shifted a fair few albums for them under the guise of helping real fans get tickets.
What does the link take you to if not the presale?

Re: Coldplay
Surprised by the way this has gone. No fan of Coldplay, and reckon the initial teasing wasn’t out of order or anything, but once he’s brought up his daughter’s autism - and been clearly a bit annoyed by the jokes about it, it’s a bit much to carry on the “are you saying she only likes Coldplay cos she’s autistic?” jokes. It might be intended as a gag about Coldplay, but it’s a bit “oooff” imo.

Re: Coldplay
I mean, I suspected he mentioned his daughter’s autism to head off the piss taking about her musical taste, and to signal that the routine gags about Coldplay would not be welcomed. Seems fair to me

Is anyone else as surprised as me that, of all the people to post a sensible reply, it was me?

Re: Coldplay
Chris Martin cringes me out and basically anything they've put out in the last 15 years isn't for me. But as a live act it's pretty common knowledge they are unrivalled as a gig experience. I saw them at Glasto in about 2011 and they were great. First 2 albums still hold up imo as well.

Re: Coldplay
Just go to Glastonbury, they seem to be the resident band there.
Got an email today for Iron Maiden presale tickets at the London Stadium.
Bit concerned it seems the done thing is to leave the stadium half way through.
