Safety netting required..
In the East Stand pre match when the away
side are doing the shooting practice (many
of which end up in RowZ)..
With all the investment and sponsorship the
club are constantly promoting surely we could
get a safety netting company on board ?…
Have spoken to the club at length on this matter
and it’s like if it’s not money coming into the club it falls on deaf ears ..
Not until someone is seriously injured will
anything be done ..
Just how long are the club going to ignore this
matter and someone is seriously injured by a
wayward football?? ..
With Mr Travis forever asking us to spend our money inside the stadium why would you sit in your seat pre match with a pie mash or a bovril
whilst footballs are being booted at you ??..
But as I stated there’s no investment in the
product so everyone just ignores the matter..

The club don't want you in your seat during the warm up, they want you quaffing and slurping the food and drink they serve up under the stand. Stay there until you hear Taxi.

Or, do what we do, stay down the pub until the last minute and turn up about 3 minutes before kick-off.The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 4:22 pm The club don't want you in your seat during the warm up, they want you quaffing and slurping the food and drink they serve up under the stand. Re: Safety netting required..
Might not be enough, sitting in the south stand I once saw Loick Pires’ finest moment in an Orient shirt while warming up at half time.
He’s tried to play a floated half volley out to I think Harry Barker but put way too much on it balls rocketed into the away end, smashed off the board at the top of the stairs leading down to the concourse and whacked an Oldham or Rochdale fan square in the face who was on his way for I imagine a pie, pint and piss.
Just remembering it now is making me chuckle

Re: Safety netting required..
Valid comment.
They used to put up netting in front of the North and the Sourh pre match, so there was some knocking about.
There was one team last season, can’t remember who but think it was one of the bigger boys, and they actually put the reserve keeper and the coach to the side of the goals to try and stop the mis hits flying into the stand. Properly decent. And in stark contrast to that lanky Bristol Rovers piece of sh*t who spent his warm up deliberately smashing the ball into the Family Stand then arguing with a dad who took exception to it. C*nt.

Re: Safety netting required..
Different younger women hit by ball in the crowd compared to the much older women shown at the end ?

Re: Safety netting required..
3 months on from my initial concerns
with the club requiring safety netting
pre match for East Stand and nothing
has been done …
It’s all ok thou as they’ve put a sign up
asking us to “watch out for wayward
footballs”..
If they could invest in a couple of signs
why didn’t we just go the whole distance
and buy the safety netting..
It’s not just the playing squad that is built
on the cheap it looks like Health and Safety
is non existent at Brisbane Rd ..

Re: Safety netting required..
I have picked up the actual match ball on a couple of occasions when it’s gone out of play and I’ve been at the right place at the right time . The ball felt feather light . It felt nearly as light as the old cheap plastic balls we used to play with at school decades ago . You took a shot and the ball would swerve around in the air it was that light . Basically, what I’m saying is I think the chances of somebody getting hurt is extremely small.Hedmans Header wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 11:54 am In the East Stand pre match when the away

Re: Safety netting required..
Remember Dossena smashing a ball into the away end somewhere (want to say Cheltenham) and splashed a woman’s nose all over her face. Most accurate shot he had

It's just a series of unrelated clips, so there's that.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 12:50 pmDifferent younger women hit by ball in the crowd compared to the much older women shown at the end ?

Re: Safety netting required..
I once had the misfortune to go to a socceraid match. I think Alan Shearer smashed a shot in the warm up and I had to duck and hit my face on the seat in front, almost taking my teeth out.
