Going Pete Tong
For the first time under NT things seem to be moving in the wrong direction, and I’ll hold my hands up and say I’m more critical of the club than most(nah can’t believe that) so we have to look at the positives. We have a good manager, some good young talent a fairly good defensive line an ok midfield? Some good performances abait the last two. Negatives, no goalkeeper of quality,no Forward of quality,no money to spend? A manager who if you get on the wrong side your out no mater what, and is a little set in his ways(stubborn)and what looks like a poor scouting system and a tendency to sign sicknote players. Have the good and bad things happened over night? No they haven’t. So what is the answer? Support Arsenal (only joking) It’s no good us slagging the club off, we are where we are and we have to support the club best we can and hope NT and RW turn this around however I would like to see RW think outside the box and change his attitude towards players especially on the sidelines, plus look at the players at his disposal and stop putting square pegs in round holes especially with substitutions. If we can hold in there until the next window and it’s a big if,we can bring in a decent keeper and forward we may be ok. We have time at the moment so no need to panic yet and RW is a good motivator when he’s not loosing his head. I’ve tried to look at both sides and yes some outweigh others but as supporters I think this will be a challenging season so let’s try not to be to harsh

Since Nigel and Kent took over we'e steadily enjoyed progress season after season . That wasn't going to last forever. This season could be the first season they take a backward step . That could be in the shape of finishing near the bottom of the league or getting relegated . I wonder how they would respond next season to their first setback .

Re: Going Pete Tong
Yes red hopefully it won’t come to that and let’s face it most of us are pretty pissed off at the moment but my point is,are we as supporters going to change that? I would say no and tbh us supporters can’t do anything apart voice our opinion in a constructive way and hope the club listen. So here goes. Next window guys bring in a decent striker and goalkeeper please as a priority.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 11:30 am Since Nigel and Kent took over we'e steadily enjoyed progress season after season . Re: Going Pete Tong
As a glass half full kinda guy I'd like to think we are getting all our bad luck out of the way at the start of the season. We are less than a tenth of the way through it and bad spells are to be expected. In the main we have played some good sides. Lets get another 8-10 games in before re-assessing. The club management will do something along those lines and action will be taken if needed, I'm sure of that.

Re: Going Pete Tong
It’s early days for sure, but out of the 9 players we’ve bought in there’s not too many you could hang your hat on right now. Yes, some haven’t even played yet.
Kelman & Clare look the pick of the bunch
Perkins & DJ shown very little
Hemming has been a disaster
Donley, ok ish
Too early for Keeley & Curie & Warrington.
It don’t look like we’ve covered ourselves with glory this window.
RW left to look on the bright side & make what he can with a bunch of kids/loaness/sick notes.
If he prevents relegation he’s done a superb job.
It looks like the bod have run out of cash.

It's a bit like the Monty Python sketch on here. Some come on here only for an argument. Others come on only to insult people. I come on here as I have far too much time on my hands. But I don't particularly want to argue with people & i think it very rude to insult people.r

Yes Mr Fart but sometimes you have to fight fire with fire, given the choice I would rather not. True there are some on here that argue for arguments sake. I think it’s the way people respond and unfortunately some on here are just idiots most know there football and reply in a constructive fashionFriend or fart wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 4:12 pm It's a bit like the Monty Python sketch on here. Re: Going Pete Tong
He's retired because he was past it last season and thought he was embarrassing himself. He'd make Hemming look like Petr Cech. Plus he's happy doing his podcast alongside Troy Deeney or a YouTuber.DrWindy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 11:40 amBen Foster could do a job in goal for a few months?Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 11:09 am For the first time under NT things seem to be moving in the wrong direction, and I’ll hold my hands up and say I’m more critical of the club than most(nah can’t believe that) so we have to look at the positives. Kor I can’t wait to read that. Or the same post tomorrow, mate. Riveting stuff. At least you’ve moved on from demanding we play 4-4-2 every week.
