Ling has to be aware too. He’s not that daft.
I’m sure Lingy has a couple of lightweight 18 year olds who have never played a professional game of football lined up as we speak…

Richie said he wants two more players over the next two or three weeks. A winger and central midfielder. What concerns me is we only have three strikers. Agyei is good , Kelman is light weight and Perkins is a raw unknown. Overall that strike force isn’t good enough.

We have a squad of 20. One is unlikely to be picked and hopefully on his way out if someone will take him. One is long term injured. One is supposedly returning soon ish, possibly.

A 17 player squad is not sufficient. Richie knows that. Ling knows that. The Investors must know that.

(Perkins and Pegrum will not be starting league games, so not included in the above, although I expect them to sit on the bench).

You're missing Howes and Phillips and you can't just exclude players from the squad who aren't in the first 11. But the point still stands we're short depth in the squad. I imagine they're tricky players to find. Someone willing to sit on the bench most of the time is likely to only be a youngster with limited experience.

Howlers will not start a league game for us. I have no idea who Phillips is?

I've not excluded players just because they're not in the first XI (obviously, there are more than 11). I've left out players who will not/are not able to start league games for us. I originally left Moncur out of that list because of that but felt I had to include him.

We don't need players to sit on the bench. We need genuine competition in a couple of positions.

I'll settle for 5 points, 5 goals scored and 4 conceded.

Howes will 100% start a league game for us this season, you're expecting Hemmings to go the whole season without picking up a single injury or sickness (or loss of form).
Perkins will 100% start a league game for us this season.
Pegrum, not sure, never really seen him play.

I think you're being unfair saying Howes is not able to start games, without having ever had a fair run in the team to establish himself, and saying that about Perkins who only signed in the summer is plain ridiculous.

How many points do you think we'll get? 6
How many would be a success? 4
How many points would be a failure? 1 or 0

Interesting that nobody predicted zero points after four games . It's worse than any of us predicted . That's says it all really .

We are weaker than last season, in a stronger league.

Charltons an interesting one. Could easily win - their two best players from the first game last season aint there anymore. I’ll go with a point as well.
Birmingham we might get whipped and Shrewsbury I’ll say win.

So 5 points from those 4. I’d be delighted with that. Could easily be 0 though.
