Kent Teague
What has happened to Kent Teague
I understand Kent's shareholding has been reduced in the recent past, but has his financial contribution to the club also reduced thus making it impossible for us to compete financially with most other clubs in league one?
Something weird is going on in my opinion, because listening to Richie and Lingys video we are left in no doubt the the cost of bringing in decent players, is now prohibitive to our club.
But why ?. Crawley, Northampton, Stevenage, and Exeter, are similar size clubs to us,have no trouble bringing in decent League One experienced pros so why do we?
Summats not right here!

I think there too many coaches and backroom staff at the club, and do we really need a DOF?

Re: Kent Teague
I guess slogging it out to finish mid table in league 1 isn’t as fun as winning the conference. He has probably lost interest now that the honeymoon is over.

Re: Kent Teague
Coley has Kent’s shares.
None of them have anywhere close to the wealth needed to run an upper league 1 club.

Re: Kent Teague
My thoughts exactly, Nigel has been duped into believing that we need all these people.Chicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 11:41 am I think there too many coaches and backroom staff at the club, and do we really need a DOF?
From Nigels Q&A it's become obvious that we are struggling to find additional investment and Nigel primarily is keeping the club afloat (for how long he's able or willing to sustain this at this level we'll see).
As for Kent, again it's obvious that he's decided to step away and spend his money on other projects. It may well have been the intention all along that he would back the club until we reached League 1. I'm sure we'll still see Kent though from time to time.

Re: Kent Teague
Kent said something in one of his interviews a little while ago about his first grandchild changing his priorities, seems like he's focusing on other areas now and pulling back from Orient somewhat.
A great shame as I really like his raw drive for success and ambition

Re: Kent Teague
Genuine question..... How do you know what wealth our board members have?BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 11:53 am Coley has Kent’s shares.

I should imagine their wealth is private, so how can you come out with a statement like that?

Their finances and what they’ve invested are publicly available.Qin wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 12:57 pmGenuine question..... How do you know what wealth our board members have?BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 11:53 am Coley has Kent’s shares.

Coley Parry needed a consortium to raise €14m for the Vitesse shambles.

Yet there has been talk of us moving to a new stadium . How are we going to do that if they can't run an upper league 1 club .BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 11:53 am Coley has Kent’s shares.

Yeah… Nigel has said several times they need further investment to take the club further. What point are you trying to make?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 2:12 pmYet there has been talk of us moving to a new stadium . They’re on board for now, see Orient through the next couple of years. Get a training ground and new stadium site. Sell the club, they all walk away with a fortune.

Re: Kent Teague
I think the club are playing the long game. With the ffp rules tightening next year 8 or 9 clubs are this year putting all on red and hoping it comes up. 5 or 6 will fall short and struggle next year without selling players. This year we have a young squad who will develop. Our core signed players will get better. We may pick up one or two of this years loan players and next year it will be a buyers market. Both Richie and Nigel have said as much across their interviews without being explicit about it.
