Re: Josh Keeley and Josh Onomah
I’ve never heard of either of them . Edit , OK, I’ve just looked both them up . So we could be bringing in another keeper . Maybe Richie isn’t quite as sure about Hemming as what I thought . If we do bring in another keeper, Howes might as well go out on loan to get some game time.

Re: Josh Keeley and Josh Onomah
Nah surely in that scenario it would be Hemmings recalled. What club wants their young keeper out as no2 somewhere all season? And it might be a horror for him.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 1:32 pm I’ve never heard of either of them . Edit , OK, I’ve just looked both them up . I am no longer expecting a new goalie but would be pleasantly surprised. That said, wish Hemmings all the best, here or away.

Re: Josh Keeley and Josh Onomah
Onomah appears to be without a club after being at Preston last season. Decent CV at PL and Champ level, although never seems to have quite nailed down a starting XI spot anywhere. Maybe at 27 he's willing to drop down slightly for more first team football.

If true I almost feel sorry for Hemming but it's borderline hilarious that within a month of the season signing another loan keeper

Re: Josh Keeley and Josh Onomah
Signing another midfielder when that is the position we easily have the most depth in feels quite Wellens-y.
Bringing in another keeper would at least show some bravery in admitting the recruitment was ballsed up, but crackers that we'd be in that position three league games in.

Re: Josh Keeley and Josh Onomah
We've got lots of options in the attacking area. Jordan Brown is the only 4/6/CDM/Holding midfielder or whatever you want to call it. And when we sometimes want to line up with a 4-2-3-1, that's a big problem.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 2:31 pm Signing another midfielder when that is the position we easily have the most depth in feels quite Wellens-y.

Re: Josh Keeley and Josh Onomah
Isn't that Warrington's role? Where he played against Millwall and looked good. And in a 4-2-3-1 situation, you aren't playing Pratley as the attacking midfielder, Galbraith easily suits playing deeper than a 10. Feels a bit like overkill Vs what we have depth wise up top or at full back.

So the keeper has signed. 2 loan keeper’s is not right, need to get our own next season

Re: Josh Keeley and Josh Onomah
Totally forgot about the El Miz replacement in Warrington - oops! Hopefully he’s ready to contribute sooner rather than later ie before Brown is overused.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 3:16 pm Isn't that Warrington's role? Not as easy as that. Can't send a player back in the same window unless he goes back by his own choice.

Re: Josh Keeley and Josh Onomah
Onomah has not actually played any League football since leaving PNE in June 2023. He has apparently been a “ triallist” at both Bolton and Blackpool during 2024 but was unable to secure a deal at either club. Not filling me with with the greatest of confidence at this point tbh.

Eesh, I misread - thought he left after last season, not the one before.redintheface wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 4:40 pm Onomah has not actually played any League football since leaving PNE in June 2023.
