Re: Josh Keeley confirmed
Good news. Howes was never going to challenge to start (despite what some boarders think) and this gives Hemming a kick up the arse. If he stays that is.

Blimey. Presumably been brought in in case Hemmings keeps throwing stinkers. Massively botched this position..

I can’t wait to see what Brigs/Tuffers has to say about this…
Seems like I was right all along and Howlers is never getting anywhere near a starting line up in League 1

Re: Josh Keeley confirmed
Happy and surprised by this but shame like last year first three games largely sacrificed to just an all round weird situation...

Re: Josh Keeley confirmed
Also means we're at our loan maximum right? Or is that just the number of loan players that can be in a match squad?
Real shame to waste one of those slots on a contingency that should hopefully never play should Hemmings gain some form (which based on the fact he was a decent no.1 at spl level I sort of think he still will)..

Bye to Hemming or Howes I wonder? Surely whichever loanee we don't play their parent club won't be happy

Re: Josh Keeley confirmed
Emergency call went out to Spurs
We’ve got a great relationship with Spurs, helped by Brill being there.
Hemming on way back to Boro, Keeley soon to be first choice, Howes reserve.

Re: Josh Keeley confirmed
For the time being is this a record for number of keepers on our books at the same time?
Two loanees GKs
One senior pro GK (who will never get a game)
Two academy GKs replaced by a Spurs academy GK

There’s no way we could have gone into September hoping Hemings sorts himself out.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 3:43 pm Also means we're at our loan maximum right? Or is that just the number of loan players that can be in a match squad?

Well done to the club for admitting we’ve f*cked it up and resolving the situation.

I’m sure they have tvs and stuff in Middlesbrough and will be aware of our reasoning.

Re: Josh Keeley confirmed
You can have more than 5 loanees but can only select 5 for each match. Goalkeepers are not included in the match max squad of 22 players over 21 years oldMistadobalina wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 3:43 pm Also means we're at our loan maximum right? Er… nothing in that article says anything about assurances re: game time, and there’s not even mention of him in any other context than “providing competition”

Re: Josh Keeley confirmed
If Hemmings does go back then hope he has nothing but love and encouragement from Os fans. Certainly on socials. Just a young fella trying and can come good. In footy or elsewhere. Would be a rough deal for it to end now.
That said, for me it's surely him that goes back. Can't have two loan gk's contending, not with the start he has had. Spurs won't expect their keeper to go and sit on bench....although he has not got LOADS of first team experience it seems...so maybe? Maybe

Re: Josh Keeley confirmed
One experienced pro on a permanent contract with Howes / Byrne as cheap backup
or
two loanees
The recruitment in the GK position has been absolutely crazy since Vigs left

Cant send a player back in the same transfer window apparently unless he leaves of his own accord.

Re: Josh Keeley confirmed
That’s fair enough but if I was in his shoes I’d be looking for a move . Howe’s is obviously wasting his time at Orient if he still can’t get a chance after those Hemming cock up’sThe Reverend wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 3:40 pm I can’t wait to see what Brigs/Tuffers has to say about this…
