There’s plenty of those around, but to murder five people in cold blood…was it not the case that his then girl friend changed her testimony when she discovered that he had cheated on her? Also, the police agreed to drop charges against her if she joined the prosecution? (I am not saying that he is innocent.)

I read the book without any preconceived ideas, except that quite a few people maintained that he was innocent, but it seemed to me that the evidence stacked up against him.

Thought this article dispelled some of the rising hysteria around this conviction

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c39k44n8j1mo

Seems like a few flaws in a big pile of evidence and this is an investigation that was years long. Letby's only witness was a plumber.

Given the seriousness and complexity of this case I don't think it hurts to have a wide ranging review to ensure the integrity of the justice system. Like all of the above posters on this subject (OJ included) I'm as clueless about this situation as they are.

He maybe only a plumber, but his testimony could still throw a spanner in the works.

Perhaps so.
I suppose I’d think differently had I listened to all the evidence.
However, the fact remains that she has been convicted upon probabilities (admittedly high probabilities) rather than hard evidence. This could leaveroom for reasonable doubt on appeal

You’ve posted up a quote from yourself where you’ve previously claimed to have a “feeling” about the case, and make a claim about an appeal despite, right now, there not being an appeal. Additionally the current growing noise around it isn’t a lot of people saying “oh I’ve just realised she was convicted on probabilities!!!” but is a number of people pointing to aspects that may make the conviction unsafe.

I’m personally of the opinion now that she almost certainly did it, but that the case itself may well have been botched in some ways by people taking the obviousness for granted (to be very simplistic about it)

I reckon there’s some reasonable takes about the wider application of the law, where the point is that even obviously guilty people need to convicted based on a robust, fully made case, and if that’s not done, then the suspect should not be convicted.

There are also unreasonable takes, which amount to “I had a feeling the attractive young nurse couldn’t have done it!! Let her go!!!”

Way off on this one, her bed featured her teddy bear collection and her room had “motivational” quotes like “ Leave Sparkles Wherever You Go” posted around it
