Don't worry, Max. I suspect that Labour will get lucky and find a load of PFI contracts to surprise us.

They spent the time claiming they weren't going to put up taxes because the Tories told them they would in debates and wanted to get into power.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 1:25 pmNot just any old Labour government but an austerity one, very similar to the Tories. Would these riots not have happened under the Tories?
A lot of people are very, very angry that we have a Labour government.
Reality is we can't borrow any longer, and the public services are at breaking point thanks to the last 14-17 years of catastrophic decisions. So they are going for austerity 2.0 or 4.0 now, but I think there's not much blood left in the stone.
The customs union might be a good idea, but doubt they'll go for it.

Another 4 billion to Ukraine though and a pledge for never ending spending there.
Defending democracy. A country so democratic it suspended it's elections and its government currently has jeeps driving round sweeping up men like safari and throwing them into a war a lot of them never did, or no longer want.

Stop right where you are. You've mentioned the Brexit elephant in the room. Keir didn't.MassiveForehead wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 8:40 pmThey spent the time claiming they weren't going to put up taxes because the Tories told them they would in debates and wanted to get into power.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 1:25 pmNot just any old Labour government but an austerity one, very similar to the Tories. We can borrow more because the debt is on the books of the Bank of England who are owned by the government and you can't owe yourself money.
This might help;

A democracy with fascists in the government and army just like Israel who also get economic support to murder children in a genocide.idontkn0 M wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 8:44 pm Another 4 billion to Ukraine though and a pledge for never ending spending there.

I am thinking of setting up a crowd funding page for Maxy. So that he can enjoy his Utopia in Cuba. He can take his ole banger there too, it will fit in nicely with their cars. Personally I was less than impressed when I was there.

Re: Labour Watch
As announced by David Lammy today:
Labour's stance on the genocide in Gaza is to 'suspend 30 arms export licences to Israel because there is a clear risk that those arms may be used in violation of humanitarian law.
Just a risk??? How does Lammy think the genocide of Palestinians occured and is still going on every day now?
And what about the other 350 arms export licences from the UK to Israel that he seems to think are quite acceptable?

Re: Labour Watch
So now the pensioners have to 'to take the hit' for Labour's plan to prevent the economy from crashing?
How utterly pathetic.
Farage will exploit this big time and increase his following.
His first step has already been taken by disconnecting from Reform.
He now is 'a law unto himself'.
Re: Labour Watch
Labour MP Jess Phillips says she received preferential treatment in an NHS A&E because she is an MP who was recognised by a Palestinian doctor as having voted for a Gaza ceasefire.

Whether or not it happened as she says, It's bizarre claim to make. Let's hope Labour manage to sweep it under the carpet, the last thing they want is the public thinking there's a two-tier NHS on top of the police, the justice system, and politics in general.

The public have known there’s a two tier police system for decades but have been ok with it.

Among a crowded field, she's the biggest bullshitter going. Also struggling to imagine the simp-brain at work for anyone who paid good money to inflate her ego further at "An Audience With..." evening. Mindbottling.

She was also getting dug out when a video emerged of her dancing along during a Pride event. According to some "commentators" it wasn't very dignified of a Government minister.

He said something I concur with. Before Brexit you had Europeans working in NHS & the hospitality sector, Most spoke good English & were helpful. Now this work is done by Nigerians & Filipinos.

Nigerians and Filipinos aren't helpful? Be news to my wife's Filipina colleague that actually she's a useless pain nurse and should clear off.
