The only person that GM ever got off their seat was the sub replacing him early in the second half.

Interesting, is that direction a bunch of loan youth players then?
Yes, I was wondering about that as well . Does Monc's mean maybe our style of play doesn't suit him .? Nonetheless no matter what the style of play ,players still have to run around for 90 minutes . His talent was never in question but he doesn't seem to have the stamina anymore .

I wouldn't read too much into that comment tbh. It's just a neat way of saying he wasn't getting in the team without making himself seem bitter or slagging anyone else off. He isn't exactly going to say 'I left because the gaffer said i wasn't fit enough' on his first interview with a new club is he?

Yes. The Club is going in a different direction alright. To Birmingham and Bolton rather than Altrincham and Braintree.

Was on the bench last night and came on for 19 mins. Southend forum had nothing but praise for his debut. They are convinced he is star material and that they have a good player. Little do they know he is only fit enough for 60 mins.

In the National League that might be enough to make all the difference.

I have found the constant rubbishing of George to be unpleasant and undeserved. I felt that his return to the team last season coincided with our best run of results. Had he come on for the last 20 minutes with his experience and ball control on Saturday I wonder if the outcome would have been different (I know he wasn't actually on the bench so could not have done so). This is a brilliant move by Southend. Good luck George

Nobody ever doubted his ability, just his fitness and you might be right about last Saturday

If it's a contributing factor to the out of favour stance now, then why has he not moved before to make things easier
Yes odd. Thought he lived in Loughton?

Spoke to some of their fans that were at the game - also very happy and insinuating we'd 'dropped a bollock' by letting him go.

I didn't have the heart to tell them (such was their excitement) that his 19min shift was about his limit.

There is Always a reason clubs let players go - especially talented ones like Moncur, but the penny hasn't dropped for them in that regard yet..

I had similar discussions but did warn them about his fitness, or lack of.
They feel he may be alright at the lower level.

Caught the last 25 minutes, he barely touched the ball, was out on his feet as Dagenham took charge and won the game.

The Samling didn't make any howlers in an unfamiliar left back position.

No way!

Did Moncs have a hand in the late equaliser?
