Re: Woke watch.
Who knew that they actually battered these horses to make them walk all funny and prance about like that? I assumed they just showed them a video, or something, of what was required

Re: Woke watch.
I actually have to attend online sessions like that from time to time. I've mastered the art of maintaining a totally blank facial expression, with the occasional nod of acknowledgement, whilst boardin', and screaming internally how the meeting host/speaker should do the world a favour and just f*ck off and die.
I'm fairly certain 99.99% of fellow attendees are thinking the same. But we persevere, as the company has to boost its all-important ESG score.

Welsh librarians told not to hold meetings in "racist" buildings as part of a £130,000 "critical whiteness" and "anti-racist library collections" project.

Re: Woke watch.
I doubt the LBC article covers all this so…..
What makes a building racist? And what’s the benchmark? And why does meeting there hundreds of years after the building decided to be racist convey any moral questionability upon the people within the building at that moment in time hundreds of years later?
I guess the constant demand for new racism to call out from the identitarian left means they have to go looking for other targets to fight racism like, shouting at bricks.

Re: Woke watch.
I'm currently staying in a village in the Yorkshire dales. The local has a sign as you enter, alerting visitors from that there London that they still do banter up round these parts. So we should leave our P.C. and woke ways behind and get ready for a real laugh.
Having spent yesterday evening downing several pints of ale and enjoying the company of the locals and experiencing their banter, I'm almost tempted to drive over to Wales and shout at their racist bricks.

We’ve got a Yorkshire guy in his early 40’s who’s worked for us for a couple of months. He gave some good honest Yorkshire banter to a gay couple who came in last week. He’s being sacked next week.

Hey, guess what - the article doesn't contain any links to anywhere that says buildings are racist!Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 8:15 am I doubt the LBC article covers all this so…..

You couldn't make it up! (Unless you work for LBCs frothy-rage-inducing social-media-output team, in which case you literally could!)

That’s not really how it works when you’re reporting on a media website instead of a football forumHoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 8:56 amHey, guess what - the article doesn't contain any links to anywhere that says buildings are racist!Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 8:15 am I doubt the LBC article covers all this so…..

You might find this document, produced by the Welsh Government, useful next time you go to Wales. I always refer to it before planning a trip.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 8:08 am Another one that doesn’t seem unreasonable to non-LBC listeners.

It's got a handy colour-coded list of streets, pubs, hotels, monuments, buildings to avoid. Essential to avoid getting triggered by statues, libraries, placards and the like.

Re: Woke watch.
Racism is a bad thing. Superficial nods to addressing racism by denouncing buildings with an iffy past is not necessarily a good thing, as a lot of things that are important and useful have an iffy past, so such initiatives are performative rather than substantive.
Though I definitely enjoyed Colin From Accounts more knowing that the makers of the quirky and observant Aussie comedy acknowledged that it was filmed on stolen land. I wonder whether that acknowledgement would have extended to f***ing off had an Aborigine turned up and said “sorry mate, this is my ancestral home and you can’t film here”, and so I definitely thing we should do more of that sort of thing over here.

Re: Woke watch.
Christ, imagine deliberately surrounding yourself with Yorkshireman. It's bad enough when you encounter them abroad on holiday. Cries of "I'M FROM YORKSHEEEER" every few minutes and "I'M FROM GOD'S OWN COUNTRY! ÈEEEEE!" I've never understood why they're so smug and what's supposed to be so amazing about Yorkshire. From what I've seen of it, the scenery looks like the dull parts of Scotland. Wazzocks.Dunners wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 8:39 am I'm currently staying in a village in the Yorkshire dales. Yeah, so far every establishment I've entered seems to include the locals trying to educate me in knowing "ow to 'ave ae ryte laff."

Sad to report there are 3 Yorkie Puds in my extended and close family now. Don't forget to call them Yorkie Puds, they love it.

Good. Companies need to stop pandering to the fuckwittery from the likes of PETA.

Re: Woke watch.
Its a bit petty isn't it? There might be more pressing animal abuse going on they could tackle than paint named after some fish.
Also, eating animals is already normal.
