Are you suggesting that Clare's tackle yesterday wouldn't have been a yellow in the 1980s and 1990s? Blimey.
No, I'm static it as fact. now f#ck off pretending to be some 4th rate football analyst you annoying little scroat
Have some time off yourself. Ban.
Thank you. If he'd gone with second rate, I wouldn't have reported it.

He might wear some next time 😉
Has the law changed with regard the wearing of shin pads ??
I thought it was compulsory but I’ve seen a few players recently either not wearing them or wearing something really small.
Admittedly I was being a little flippant with that comment. I don’t know if it’s the impact that got him or the subsequent twisting of the ankle. However I don’t think him wearing some decent shin pads would have done him any harm.

The same can be said for the Bolton player who got kicked by Happe.

It’s not unlike wearing a seatbelt these days. Not exactly much trouble so use it.

Inviting injury without them.

Yes, I agree Windy, you often see players wearing these ‘mini pads’ just under the knee and they offer zero protection.
Back in the day when I played I remember my shin pads went from my ankle to just under my knee 😊

Recommending someone wear shin pads when playing football? Yeah that comment is right out there…

Shin pads don't stop an ankle breaker/twister like that.

The strange obsession with wearing “big shin” pads.
Yeah, great insight.

Clare kicks the geezer at the top of the foot, between boot and shin pads. Attributing blame the small shin pads as a justification for bad challenges is mental.

Maybe they should wear concrete boots, to stop that sort of challenge being dangerous

The little shin pads that pricks like Grealish are popularising are ludicrous, though.

Oh dear another boardist who quotes someone saying something they never said. Quite tiresome. Read it again.

No, but they certainly protect a players shins , which is what they’re intended for.
Clare caught their guy on his foot of course, but modern boots don’t offer much protection.
