Stadium food

I'm off out on the lash straight after Saturdays game and may try a burger or pie n mash at the stadium before the game , anyone recommend the food at the stadium or should I eat elsewhere 🤔

At the stadium, the pie and mash is fine, probably the best of a bad bunch.

Elsewhere better if you have time.

Last time I had a hot dog it had mutiple misc chewy things in it. Burgers are bland and boiled. Haven’t tried the pie and mash.

Really weak area the club just don’t seem interested in improving. Weird considering Nigel’s background is the food and drink industry

Have the pie and mash Ron, its quite nice.
If you're eating on the High rd, try the Italian place where Clarkins used to be. Food is pretty decent in there

Not sure I’d trust the grub at the ground Ron

If you chance it, don’t forget to pick up a copy of Panda in case it doesn’t agree with your gut and you get caught short.

Five Lads is good for chicken. On the High Rd opposite Coronation Gardens.

Food at the ground is appalling.

Some good suggestions on this thread already - 5 lads is excellent value and very quick service.

Depends where you sit....I'm in the South Stand mainly and don't eat in the ground, but when I have gone in the West Stand, the chilli cheese dogs are my go to food. I cannot resist them as they taste so good!

As an East Ender Ron you will enjoy the pie & mash. Don't think you are a Five Guys Burger person. The Turkish(Anatolia) and Italian (figo) places are nice but dearer

Obviously not hugely nearby but has anyone tried the very highly rated Thai on Leytonstone High Road, Singburi?

Just wondered if it’s worth all the hype

The food options around the ground have made a quantum leap in quality in recent years. In the ground it's as pony as it always was.

Pie & Mash indeed best of a bad bunch, and that's pretty average. No idea why some people make a big thing of it.

We often use The Lion and Key Ron, it’s an excellent pub / restaurant/ hotel and much cheaper than Figo’s which tends to be overcrowded on match days.
Don’t often eat in the ground but might chance the Pie and Mash if I really had to.

I quite like the pie and mash, but I'm a simple soul with simple taste.

Wouldn't really eat in many of the places around the ground. Anatolia used to be ok but last time I walked past it was £12 for a wrap of about 6 chunks of meat. Usually have a meal deal at Sainsbury's or a maybe something to eat with a beer in Loughton if I park up that way

Opted for the pie n mash in the end , not great , the pie was difficult to cut up with the wooden utensils supplied and the hard crust on the pies , also it could have been hotter as it was only lukewarm 🤔 , don't think I'll bother with that again ☹️

I also had the pie and mash for the first time. I agree with you Ron. The crust was a bit difficult to deal with given the wooden utensils but my pie was pretty hot and quite tasty so might go with that option again. Quite a few people near where I sit seemed to be giving it a go.
