I think we're going to have a similar points return to what we had last season after the first four games . Basically it won't be good .

Re: August points target/fixtures
Reckon we’ll get a point or more first game. Teams who lose playoffs are unpredictable and I reckon they might take a few games to settle. Charltons an interesting one. Could easily win - their two best players from the first game last season aint there anymore. I’ll go with a point as well.
Birmingham we might get whipped and Shrewsbury I’ll say win.
So 5 points from those 4. I’d be delighted with that. Could easily be 0 though.

Draw
1 point from 12, and bottom of the league
We are weaker than last season, in a stronger league.
You don't need to be Einstein to work it out

Re: August points target/fixtures
Correct . I don't blame the club because it's all down to money and we don't have the resources of other clubs but I think we're going to be in trouble this season .

Re: August points target/fixtures/predictions
The first 3 games are against teams that will finish in the top 6, brutal start. Anything more than 4 points would be a success to me

Re: August points target/fixtures/predictions
Everyone seems to think that the Shrewsbury game is a shoo-in 3 points ?
Anyway, I reckon we'll do very well to get 4 points.

Re: August points target/fixtures/predictions
It’s not the start of the season I’m particularly worried about.
Bolton have barely changed squad since last year and apart from the first half at their place are completely beatable.
Charlton are nothing special and have lost their top goal scorer.
Everyone pooing their pants about big bad Birmingham but relegated clubs rarely hit the ground running, regardless of their size. Even if they do run away with the league this year they won’t be slapping teams about until a few months in
Shrewsbury, who knows?
Its perfectly feasible to pick up two draw, a win and a loss from these opening games (5 points) which is the worst of both worlds because it’ll install false confidence in the squad and the club can drive the narrative that it was justified in its lacklustre summer transfer activity. The real issue isn’t the quality of the current squad, it’s the alarming lack of depth.
I honestly think that losing most or even all of he opening games will be better for us in the long run as it might spook the club into making a couple more signings adding much needed depth.

Richie is fully aware we still need more players.
Ling has to be aware too. He’s not that daft.
