Where does Warrington play? Thought he was a 4, not an 8?

Don't think he will be fit enough to start until late September.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 10:49 pm Not sure Graham is going to be ready start of the season either.

What I'm expecting
Hemming
Clare Beckles Simpson James
Brown Warrington
Jaiyesimi Galbraith O'Neil
Agyei
Not sure this will work out though, especially the full backs and depends if anyone else is brought in and which signings turn out to be poor.

Re: Team for Bolton
Can see Pratley starting first game to make sure we are solid early on, it's an inexperienced midfield without him in there. You tend to see with older players that they are physically basically fine at the beginning of the season but slow down as it progresses.

Re: Team for Bolton
As we come to the end of the pre season, no additional signings, a couple of injuries, a departure, and a new formation. For me the team looks rather wonky to fit 2 strikers in, but in RW we trust. Depth clearly a problem

Re: Team for Bolton
Can’t see it. We’re going full on, high energy, press press press and Pratley can only do that when the opposition minutes in their legs. It’ll definitely be Warrington centre, Brown on right, just whether he goes Galbraith or ONeill on the left. I’d go for Ethan.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 10:17 am Can see Pratley starting first game to make sure we are solid early on, it's an inexperienced midfield without him in there. ONeill doesn’t fit but otherwise, it works - looked really good v Spurs, loads of energy.

We’re going a lot more narrow, a lot more direct and a lot less possession based tiki taky moving from side to side.

Could Adz , or anyone else, explain to me what the ‘diamond’ formation is please?Adz wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 1:17 amI'm struggling to see how our midfielders fit into the diamond formation he wants to playHoover Attack wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2024 11:13 pm ———————-——-Hemming

I thought diamond was one upfront,
Adz formation looks like 4-1-2-1-2
Is that right? Is that a diamond?
RW’s preferred formation last year was 4-2-3-1 I think.
The diamond thing looks tricky to me
Anyway, any help with what a ‘diamond’ formation will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

What a lot of the oldies have been moaning about so hopefully they are happy with the more direct approachHoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 9:25 amCorrect, no width.Adz wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 8:51 amNo width though?Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 7:09 am ONeill doesn’t fit but otherwise, it works - looked really good v Spurs, loads of energy.

The moans will now be why are we letting the opposition dominate the ball and dictate play.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 10:25 amWhat a lot of the oldies have been moaning about so hopefully they are happy with the more direct approachHoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 9:25 amCorrect, no width.

Yes you're right - the midfield 4 line up exactly like you say and how I've tried to present it above.PKM wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 10:18 amCould Adz , or anyone else, explain to me what the ‘diamond’ formation is please?Adz wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 1:17 amI'm struggling to see how our midfielders fit into the diamond formation he wants to playHoover Attack wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2024 11:13 pm ———————-——-Hemming

The front five will all be pressing high to win the ball back and force mistakes. It relies on them being fit as f*ck, basically.

The diamond shape comes from the midfield 4. 1-2-1PKM wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 10:18 amCould Adz , or anyone else, explain to me what the ‘diamond’ formation is please?Adz wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 1:17 amI'm struggling to see how our midfielders fit into the diamond formation he wants to playHoover Attack wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2024 11:13 pm ———————-——-Hemming
