True and patriotic Brit, Andy Murray (and the other one), win again in the tennis and reach the quarter finals.

Good success in the Triathlon today, someone at work said our swimmers are more used to swimming in the brown stuff so have an unfair advantage, and Thames Water can claim their part in our success

The New Zealander fell away as much as Yee put his foot down. Great watch, regardless.

Not impressed either. We get better at the annual boardin' awards.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 3:25 pm
Not liking the medal design, looks like a cheap rosette.

They spent all their money on Din dins for King Charles. Should have made him eat cake!
Re: Olympique De Paris
Shame the boxing is somewhat overshadowed by the row in the women's competition about boxers who have failed sex tests being allowed to compete.
Italy's Angela Carini called a stop to her fight after 45 seconds against Algeria's Imane Khelif, with a suspected broken nose.
Disgraceful from the IOC.

Re: Olympique De Paris
To be fair, in this instance the Algerian boxer isn't transgender. She was born a woman, with female genitals, but has a rare medical condition that results in increased levels of testosterone and XY chromosomes.
Re: Olympique De Paris
According to Sharron Davies, Imane Khelif is biologically male.
Not sure how much of the "science" is contested/open to interpretation but the most important thing is the safety of competitors in physical encounters such as this, and more than one of her opponents said they thought they were going to get seriously hurt. The Algerian boxer had already been banned from other competitions for failing gender-eligibility tests.

Bbc really have their heads in the sand, seem to be avoiding saying what exactly the problem is with this Algerian boxer.

Re: Olympique De Paris
Of all the sports added recently, BMX is a great addition and very exciting, both the racing and the freestyle.
Agree about Shriever, who blew her opponents away in the heats, she seemed to just be able to pedal faster than the others, though there's obviously a lot more to it than that. I think there were better opponents in the other heats but she looks like a gold medal in the waiting and good luck to her.
