Re: Dave Knight
Very sad news.
He was a lovely, principled & caring man - I'll miss bumping into him into him at away games.
RIP Dave.

Lovely bloke who was good mates with my partners dad, who passed away 2 years ago. Was so helpful and supportive to her at a difficult time. RIP.

Didn’t know the guy but obviously knew his face from over the years. Don’t know anyone with a bad word to say about him.
RIP.

Re: Dave Knight
I was told of Dave’s passing just before kick off
I’ve known Dave for over 30 years through playing football together for the Orientear in its infancy and of course on a social level
I know I was at a football game today and we lost but it was insignificant too me(Thanks BR for keeping me up with things on the pitch)
RIP my friend and thoughts with your family

Re: Dave Knight
Last time i saw him was outside whipps x when i had just heard my mum had a few hours left to live .
He had warm words & told me ill see you again somewhere with the O's.
Many away games we'd say hello & always stood behind him & his mates on the North terrace with mine in the 80s/90s .
Unfortunately i never got to see him at an O's game somewhere again.
Up the O's & Farewell to a very decent humble man.

Very sad. Didn't realise he was the first editor of the 'Ear. Played alongside him for the Ear football team in the late 90s and early 00s but not spoken to him for years. RIP Dave.

Re: Dave Knight
Didn’t know Dave, but knew who he was. I went to the first winding up hearing at the Old Bailey and of course he was there. The press wanted a photo with everyone holding up their scarves. He said, to no-one in particular, ‘better make sure I get it the right way up’. I was behind him and glanced up. It was upside down from my side, so I told him. He said that meant it was the right way up facing forward. ‘That’s really weird’, I told him. ‘That’s Orient for you’, he replied.
Will miss seeing him around.

Re: Dave Knight
A giant in our community - a humble one, but a giant nonetheless. If there were more people like him in the world, it would be a much better place.
Even the manner of his passing was typical of him - didn't make much fuss, but chose to fight on - and endure the pain - to see Orient promoted, at Wembley, and playing in the Football League again.
I'm glad his last experience of the Os would have been the last minute winner at Mansfield, and not yesterday.
RIP

Re: Dave Knight
Dave was with the 'walking football team', pitch-side, prior to the Stevenage game. The guys were displaying their trophy and taking a bow. Dave was in a wheel-chair and looked very unwell. It was very sad to see.
It was probably his last visit to the place that he loved so much for so long.
For passion, loyalty and integrity, we need look no further than Dave.
A very nice man.

Knew of him and saw his face for many years at games home and away. A well known Orient face. Very sad to hear this news.
