I'm sure it's of no consolation to those and the families of those that have lost or are fighting for their lives but - as above - the couple of staff and this old boy must have performed heroics to allow most of the kids there to come away physically unscathed.

The school holiday club was for children aged six to 11.

The class was fully booked and was attended by 25 youngsters and included a dance and yoga workshop plus bracelet making.

Guessing it's alluding to the fact that when white people commit these sorts of atrocities, it's always reported as being a mental health issue, but when its a non white person, it's ideological or terrorism and indicative of some sort of issue with that community.

I haven’t seen anyone “support the thugs”.

I’ve seen people point out that police brutality is unacceptable regardless of what crime a perpetrator has just committed.

It’s an entirely logical position to believe that punching a police officer is wrong and at the same time to believe that it’s wrong for a police officer to kick a suspect in the head who is cuffed and restrained on the floor.

What is interesting to me is that we live in a society where people feel the need to “take sides” on basically every issue. I suspect this is largely down to social media.

Helen, a neighbour of the suspect's family while they lived in Cardiff, has spoken of her shock at hearing the news from Southport.
"They were a lovely young couple. They were little boys, they were boisterous. Mum was a stay-at-home mum, Dad was nice, he went to work every day.
"They had a small family car, a little hatchback. They said they'd come from Rwanda and I thought, whatever you've been through, you deserve privacy.
"I'm not going to pry, you know, you've already got a story, and it's probably not a good one. It (the Rwandan genocide) had been in the news about a year before that.
"They were a normal family and they were normal kids trying to make ends meet. We chatted over the garden fence. You know, in the summer the back doors open, we chatted over the fence."

It is being reported that hundreds of EDL members have gathered to “protest” outside a Southport Mosque cos obviously the tragedy is all down to the Muslims.

Police were assaulted and sustained injuries.
