The Aussie Sheila's really screwed up on their last dive & gifted GB a Bronze medal. G'd day & thank you Aus. Well done GB gals on getting us a medal on day one.

Good sport that synchro diving. Fast paced, no messing and it’s great to see the Aussies f*** it

Left east london to avoid the 2012 Olympics and went on holiday, no interest in it . Wife booked a cruise, and where the ship could get a signal, it was non stop London Olympic crap. I'm still trying to recover.... That will teach me.....

London 2012 was awesome. Everyone had a smile on their face and spring in the step and, for a few weeks, the place just felt a little bit... happier. I can see why we wouldn't want a repeat of that nonsense.

The organisers of the Paris Olympics have apologised after a drag queen parody of Leonardo Da Vinci’s The Last Supper featured in the opening ceremony.

The scene, which recreated the biblical scene of Christ and his apostles, included drag artists and a naked singer. It was heavily criticised by politicians and members of the Catholic Church.

I thought the idea of the Olympic Games was to bring together the worlds best sports people to compete against each other.
Now it seems more about how many medals each country gets even as far as trying to predict the total beforehand.

Surely a good Olympics is if you have seen the very best in their field and witnessed good competition between athletes.
Couldn't care less about a medals table, but do want to see if possible record breaking performances regardless of nationality.

That Murray win was incredible, pure joy at the end for him and Dan Evans. Lovely stuff. Probably lose next round, but still.

Brilliant ride by Tom Pidcock to win and defend gold in the mountain biking. Very exciting end to the race, worth watching. He even lost half a minute due to a puncture mid race.

First time I’ve watched a whole mountain bike race. Very exciting. Well done Tom.

I have watched two boxing matches, one female, one male. In both cases it seemed fairly clear-cut that the GB boxer had won the bout. Declared not to be, though.

Biological men allowed to compete in women’s Olympic boxing.

Biological men allowed to literally punch women for sport

Have you never seen an Olympics before?

Of course it's about countries medal haul.

Commentator Bob Ballard sacked by Eurosport for making " sexist joke" on air. He's been a commentator for over 40 years, mainly at the BBC. Ridulous.
