Harris v. Trump

Maybe there is hope for the US after all?
Big donations for her campaign have flooded in. Brave, intelligent, gutsy, accomplished - what's not to like?

Re: Harris v. Trump
Certainly the energy level of the Dems campaign has gone through the roof, she seems competent to me, and maybe the momentum from a shorter campaign will carry her over the line. On the other hand, Americans...

Re: Harris v. Trump
Simples: she has got brains, Trump hasn't- whether or not the Yanks can work out that conundrum, is another matter.

Re: Harris v. Trump
Her biggest problem is that she’s an Asian Caribbean American who is intelligent. All the things a lot of yanks, and especially the right, are scared of. It might do her in.
Oh and she’s a woman and getting over that barrier will be hardest against someone like trump

Re: Harris v. Trump
No idea. I just come across this poll showing voting intentions over three identifiers. What's interesting about it is that Trump has increased his vote share with black voters. He had 8% of them vote for him in 2020.

Re: Harris v. Trump
Well he is the least racist president, ever.
I'm surprised his women numbers are that good considering.

Agreed. The more outrageous the politician, the more likely the Americans seem to like him.

And if it turns out they haven't, you'll say it's a conspiracy anyway. No lose scenario really.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 1:08 pm All I’m going to say is they have just handed the Presidency to Trump

Re: Harris v. Trump
Well, let’s just hope there are no shenanigans this time . For example, postal ballots without any signatures on them which were wide open to fraud. Hopefully this election will have more integrity about it so people can abide by whatever the result is without complaint or suspicions.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 1:53 pmAnd if it turns out they haven't, you'll say it's a conspiracy anyway. Re: Harris v. Trump
Distinctly remember you saying at the time you thought the election was stolen before a single baseless conspiracy theory was even put forward. You just 'knew' it to be true.
Do you not see how arriving at a conclusion before any evidence has been offered ( and to be clear none ever was found anyway ) might suggest you've been a bit sucked in? That it's a bit of a strange worldview to think that if Trump wins, it's real, but if he doesn't, it's a fix?

Re: Harris v. Trump
What lack of integrity was there in the last election, other than the sitting President refusing to accept he lost and putting pressure on others to 'find votes'?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 4:00 pmWell, let’s just hope there are no shenanigans this time . Hear!Hear! Trumpet is the byword for integrity and I would hate to see him cheated again! If he does fall foul to cheating this time around, I hope the good ole boys will take up arms and show those liberal candy-asses what's whatRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 4:00 pmWell, let’s just hope there are no shenanigans this time . We all spoke about this back in 2020. I'm not going to go through it all again .Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 4:14 pmWhat lack of integrity was there in the last election, other than the sitting President refusing to accept he lost and putting pressure on others to 'find votes'?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 4:00 pmWell, let’s just hope there are no shenanigans this time . If you don't want to rake over old ground, perhaps stop repeating the same baseless accusations.

Re: Harris v. Trump
On the one hand we have a former President who refused to believe he lost last election, despite the democracy of the vote.
And against him now the Vice-President, who was willing to deceive the American public and back the existing President for the job for another four years, despite the fact she must have known he wasn’t fit for it. Then along came the TV debate and made it glaringly obvious to everyone he wasn’t up to it, so realising the cat was out the bag and they were onto a loser, she then takes over late in the day as the nominee.
What a choice!
