British Film Watch - Social Realism

Post by claptonCasual »

If you appreciated British social realist drama, Paul Holbrooke is one to watch. He's currently making shorts of such great quality it's only a matter of time before he finally get the recognition he deserves!

His latest film is 'Boys Like You'.

British social realist drama
:)

Does this mean films featuring yobs, gangsters and hard men, mainly set in and around pubs and council estates?

Actually, BOYS LIKE YOU isn't about "yobs and gangsters." It's a thoughtful drama about human connection and the impact of our actions. Not all stories set in council estates are about crime.

”A depressed housewife seek out a troubled young man from her past with disastrous consequences”
Seen a few films that work off that premise tbf

I can't decide which is the better trailer, this one or the new Alien one. Alien doesn't have Mick from Brookside in it granted.
