The rumour from the Chigwell training ground is he is unfit and overweight so staying behind to do some conditioning work with one of the physios.
With the weather in Malaga being over 40 degrees it wouldn't be ideal for Monks.
Must be a different Moncour then in Loughton then 🤔

Didn't we get him from a non league team, erith I think, so has some first team experience

Good knowledge.

If he’s the lad in thinking of, he’s a centre midfielder so maybe taken him as a further kick up Moncs arse.

Yes , that's a good call . It wouldn't surprise me to see him going there plus Rob Hunt is already there .
A swap deal with Noah Chilvers would be good.

He's not 35, Pratley is 40.

His situation is quite gutting

He’s clearly got the natural talent to play at a high level but the application is woeful and winging it on talent alone rarely works unless your surname is Berbatov

I still think he played a very important part in our promotion season and should be remembered for that. But it is totally inexcusable if he is unfit and overweight three weeks before the opening game of the season.

I don’t think he did.

He’s clearly got great feet, is as strong as an ox and never loses the ball. But how much end product is there?

Out of possession, he’s clearly a total liability.

If he really is still ''unfit and overweight'' well does not say much for his professionalism as a well paid footballer.
He must really try the patience of Richie and his coaching team. I wonder what MR Moncur intends to do for a job of work once his career as a footballer ends. Seems like he has the talent but NOT the dedication that is required to be a successful professional footballer.

If he really is “unfit and overweight” fair play to him, too often we castigate footballers for not being relatable to the fans

I would have thought that if Moncs has a problem, you would take him with you so that you can control his food and physical health. Get him back on track.

You have no control over him if he is in England.

Monc's problem is that these days he is naturally heavy. As he gets older this tends to tell on performances more and more. As much as I'd like to see it, he's likely to have passed his best - whilst at the same time we have got better.

Wonder if he’s in breach of his contract in some way by being overweight and unfit 🤔
He surely has a duty to be at least fit to carry out his ‘work duties’ .

I get the impression that Moncur lacks self-awareness with regard to his contribution to the team.

We do need to be careful with any criticism though. Remember when he got substituted against Doncaster? Minutes later his best mate, JC, was so angered that he sent biblical floods and a plague of parakeets.

I think the sad part is that he seems a very nice guy off the pitch, and fans want him to do well but if he lacks the commitment and effort then fans will be upset. Effort is the very minimum that fans expect………he is clearly a skilful player but there’s just no end product.

If he's overweight, it's not his fault, it's just the Lord's weigh.

Definitely an important part of the promotion season. Played 43 matches and scored 9 goals.

You'd kind of hope so wouldn't you. Even the plod used to have a fitness test to be a PC. I'd hope that professional athletes would need to prove that they met an agreed standard or risk being given the tin-tac.

Clearly he's not the brightest. And I would apply the same to anyone that bases their life around a fairy tale/archaic belief system.

Whether you agree with that or not, clearly the magic man in the sky isn't doing much for him at the moment.

Perhaps he's got personal problems, which is why RW has continued to cut him slack. I would agree with others that he Did make a contribution to our promotion season, but perhaps due to increased athleticism required in L1 he just cannae hack it.

Taking it all into account though - unless he can shape up fast and make a contribution in 24/5 you'd have to say overall he's been a waste of money since the promotion season..

Both in the past and right now he is an important part of the squad's morale. He's the polar opposite of Harry Smith, who was a mood hoover, and provides much needed laughter in the changing room. Also, who can forget his contribution as one of the originals of the spiritual group. Wagon wheel is his!

Unfortunately George is in a high octane squad. Closing down quickly is not in his natural skill set. When I saw him first play (against Spurs young ones) and he made a number of surges together with a delicious free kick I though him to be a world beater. It ended up being a case of a man bullying kids.

Well then, that would include the vast majority of people who live all over the world then !!
