Re: New England Captain
Jude will be captain one day but he’s a bit too emotional atm (which is good but not what you need for captain).
Don’t like keeper captains but pickford has the character (although maybe not the brains) needed. Rice maybe as well

Re: New England Captain
Bellingham has the winning attitude from Madrid though it'll remain to be seen if he can bring the other players along with him. Got an impression he was a bit frustrated by the tactics and possibly some of those around him at times.

Re: New England Captain
He has a real attitude problem and was one of the main under performers. The next manager should rest him for a bit.

More importantly. Who will be O’s Captain this year. El Miz has moved on. Beckles not automatic in the starting line up. How about Dan Happe ?

Absolutely this. Behaves like a petulant child at times. Will grow out of it hopefully as he has many qualities too.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 6:50 pmHe has a real attitude problem and was one of the main under performers. The next manager should rest him for a bit.
We look short of potential captains for Kane (I too don't dig keeper-captains). Rice seems to have the correct attributes but just come off a poor tournament really...
Not yet, but I can see one day Mainoo being captain. Calm, not intimidated by anyone, excellent football brain.

Re: New England Captain
Difficult question and better left to the manager who will get to know what each person can bring to the job.
If really put on the spot would go for Stones or Shaw ( if he can fully regain his fitness and form )
IMO Kane's time is spent, time to look for someone new. As to Bellingham, well needs to mature a lot before taking the Captains arm band.

Agree. He's got a touch cocky with all this limelight. His head is already in the clouds and to then give him the captains armband is ridiculous.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 6:50 pmHe has a real attitude problem and was one of the main under performers. Re: New England Captain
You shouldn’t have Bellingham as captain because you can’t have your captain arguing with the manager whilst the game is in progress no matter how bad Southgate was it’s not the correct thing to do. Mr Bellingham needs to not get above his station. Rice would be my choice,a level head always gives %100 and leads by example. Good place to have a captain (midfield) can see all the play around him.

Re: New England Captain
Kane had a very poor tournament but I think we set up in a way that didn’t suit him at all and that’s whT affected him, plus all these rumours that he was still struggling with a back injury (you have to think of that’s the case why did we play him). But still, he is one of Europe’s elite strikers and will probably go on to score another 30 goals in the Bundesliga playing in a team that plays to his strengths, like England did before the Euros this year. He should still very much be our captain and first choice striker. We need a new manager to come in with new ideas on how to get the best out of these players.

Re: New England Captain
It might not be correct but I want someone who pushes the boundaries. I wonder if the frustration coming out was a Real Madrid player who knows how to win things watching his side throw away a chance at glory. Once you've worked with the genius that is Ancellotti it must be galling to sit back and be passive instead.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 11:10 am You shouldn’t have Bellingham as captain because you can’t have your captain arguing with the manager whilst the game is in progress no matter how bad Southgate was it’s not the correct thing to do. Personally feel we can't have more "safe" appointments if we want to get over the line when it counts.

Re: New England Captain
Sorry Shaw You can’t have players undermining the Manager whilst they’re on the pitch that’s very unprofessional. These things should be discussed off the pitch otherwise what’s the point of a manager. Bellingham is a young kid and he might play for Madrid but has no right to call the shots. Southgate imo wasn’t a good manager tactically but was a good man and deserved more respect.gshaw wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 12:58 pmIt might not be correct but I want someone who pushes the boundaries. Shows he has passion and a determination to win…he was correct in his reading of the game, too.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 3:13 pmSorry Shaw You can’t have players undermining the Manager whilst they’re on the pitch that’s very unprofessional.
