The caveat is they are getting there at opening time (11:30) and spending the entire day there 🤢
Eight and a half hours of boozing before kick off. At least if England lose you wouldn't remember it.

Whereabouts is this, Ron? Our local is accepting walk ins (I can't believe I'm even saying this) as all tables and seats are reserved, but no way am I going to stand up in a pub for 2 hours before kick off.
The Marquess of Cornwallis Bethnal Green Road , I can't do 4 hours in a pub these days cos I like a drink and would end up hammered 😂

Managed a table at the local spoons at 18:00 quite easily

Only downside is it’s a Spoons

We've got tickets for High Hill Taproom, was about the only one with any left when I was looking yesterday morning. Everywhere that was doing walk-ins now seem not to be. Not that we ever reached finals in the last 30 years but how did pubs manage previously? Don't really see why this is all suddenly an issue.

Tavern on the Hill might be an option if Trades Hall is a bust?
it became the Warrant Officer to attract the modern version of yuppies, I thought. Why has it changed back - no yuppies to attract?

6pm and my local was rammed , enough standing room left for about a dozen people ☹️ the security guy on the door said loads of them were in the pub at midday and were already Pissed ☹️ I can see trouble in there later so I'm watching it at home 🤔

Think the opposite tbh. It was still vaguely sketchy at TWO but then local brewery Wild Card took it over and changed it back - it's been gentrified since then but, to be honest, not as badly as it could have been, kept staff on and a few non-Wild Card beers for the old fellas who still go there. Doing it's best to find some kind of middle ground.

Dog & Duck was a decent option in the end. A mixed crowd of sandal wearing luvvies and cor blimeys.

Saw one fella drop his bag of coke, and a bird and her bloke slip into the toilets for a quick half time knee trembler. Bloke behind me spent the entire game shouting out his opinions of Walker's football abilities (or lack of). Decent beer selection though, and big screens everywhere.

Went to the D&D while "working from home" for Slovenia-Serbia. Mate and I made up about 40% of the clientele so probably a slightly different vibe. We both wore sandals, obvs. Absolutely fascinated by the Only Fools themed toilets though.

There's something depressing about how 15,000 actually watched the game at the O2.
