With this in mind why not go back to goal line technology and remove everything else. The game would be much better as a result.
But it did eradicate an error. The ref didn’t give the penalty when Dumbfries went in studs up, above knee height and made contact with Kane after Kane had taken his shot. He should have.

Instead of blaming the loss on a perceived dodgy penalty decision maybe Koeman should focus his attention on his and his teams short comings, in 90 minutes of football, a European Championship Semi final no less the Dutch had two, yes a grand total of two shots on target, that is just not good enough at this level of football, the Dutch were lucky to go in at half time with the scores level, second half they did little more than stifle play in the midfield, England were by far the better team throughout the entire game which proved to be the case when we showed our class and scored a well deserved winning goal late on.

Jury of refs to reach a decision and then get it rubber stamped by a senior referee.
That would hold the game up for a long time. Why not just keep it to using goal line technology and also var for offside decisions and leave all the other decisions to the referee and linesman !

Not a great fan of VAR but it's the right decision in this case.

Would have been #fuming if it had been given against us, but yh you're right. In fact, it could be made into the ultimate vindication for the technology - an offence which according to the letter of the law is punishable by a foul, but is rarely if ever given by the naked eye, which has led to an understanding that it isn't actually a foul.

VAR - putting people right on a few points they were unsure of.

Yes, but what a nice convenient diversion for you from England reaching the Euros final, eh Maxy! ;)
Oh! Did I forget to say congrats to England for reaching the final. Soz.

I hope someone's checked the betting patterns for the award of an England oenalty especially since the ref has a history of being susceptible to financial persuasion.
The ref was willing to play on VAR called him back Maxy boy so that accusation won’t wash . Get over your jealousy mate. If your good little jocks we might let you play us some time.🙃🙂🙂

The game of football has been played in many various forms for many hundreds of years. Best left to being a game that is played by human beings and ( as it is 99.99% of the time ) officiated by human beings. If people want it officiated and aided by computer science, then go play football games online !

Yep. My first instinct was it wasn't a foul and then having seen it replayed I changed my mind. My issue with VAR has mainly been around the time it's taken out of a game to make borderline decisions or very marginal offsides. The semi-automated tech they've been using in this tournament seems to have helped things.

Does VAR result in more or fewer goals?
