Re: Election Watch
Voted about 8am and there was a decent queue (although oddly in this part of E17 only people living in streets H-Z seemed to be bothering, the queue for those with an A-H address was deserted).

An incredible turnaround and despite the resignations, I expect to see a number of Portiolo moments tonight

Re: Election Watch
Currently laid up with a horrendous bout of Covid and trying to garner the energy to get out of bed and vote. Not sure it'll make a difference in a very safe tory seat though.

News from the Labour insider I know who is on the knocker says they have never heard so many people say they set their alarm for 7am to get out and vote for the Red half of the neoliberal concensus and austerity party.

Re: Election Watch
Just got back from my polling station. I was the only one there. I walked right in, scoffed at the lack of local engagement in the democratic process, and exclaimed how this was probably due to the paucity of intellectual rigour in the election debate and the lack of a credible true socialist alternative. And everybody cheered.

Don't want to be that guy, but if a white journo misappropriated Windrush in that way they'd be crucified.

Voted and instantly felt guilty. Voted for someone that’s probably not been here until a month ago rather than the independent, just because the Indy doesn’t have a chance of ousting the Tory.

Islington North 'too close to call' according to that. Fingers crossed. Also says Kensington is a Labour hold, despite having a sitting Tory MP.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 10:41 pmCan check your constituency here https://news.sky.com/story/exit-poll-wh ... y-13163180

Re: Election Watch
Labour's Dan Jarvis predicted to lose his seat to the guy who's so racist he's even been disowned by Reform. Fortunately Sirkier seems to have successfully appeased the bigots in enough other seats!
