Transfer activity at this club

Post by Frogger »

Is so painful. Just looked at the top 10 teams in this league and nearly all have made at least 2 signings in the last 48 hours.
Why does it take so long for this to make a move on a player unless it’s a loan.
Is it due to such a small budget?
Is it we have a poor recruitment setup?
Is it that we are a very unattractive club to many players?
Is it that we are just waiting to see what’s left in the bargain bin?

I am just baffled by the lack of activity from this club. I hope I am wrong and a flurry of quality comes the rough our doors in the next week but I have a feeling it’s going to be a few rejects and kids on loan

Don’t worry we’ve signed a manager, assistant manager and coach!😁
How many other clubs have done that?

Same every year wait til the last min ..
(Due to doing our Due Diligence) ..

And then constantly get informed that
the new signings have missed pre
season and will be up and running
late Oct ..

Grateful we’ve got our club back but
most of us fans have been round the
block a few times and we know when
the owners/club say we’ve 4 or 5 coming
in the door it might not be til the 2nd
week of Aug ..

5 weeks til the season starts and our
inactivity in the playing squad should be
alarming to all our fans ..

In the interview yesterday RW said first few weeks are fitness focused then the next few weeks are tactical work.

So if players arrive past August they'll miss all of that and back to the injuries / unfit / not gelled yet tropes. Despite the sound bites after the January striker signing farce seems nothing has been learnt and if anything signings are even slower to arrive this time around.

I’m sure RW & Lingy have a cunning plan
6 signings in next week, problem sorted
Vigs, El Miz, full backs, quality striker, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Way behind the game , most clubs have signed more than five in our league , take a look online league 1 transfers . The lowest activity is Northampton and Orient , they’ve signed one , us two loans and so many out , we now need 7 players!
The club did say they wanted players in faster to be fit and prepared for pre season . That didn’t work out too well.
Let’s hope for 6 in next week . :D

I am also baffled by the lack of activity from this club. Particularly when you think of the last two disastrous seasons. It's obvious that our head coach and DOF haven`t got a clue what they are doing.

We are waiting for clubs to release players on loan. Perhaps we are trying to get enough cash by selling players to get El Miz and Vigs back in the club. RW always said he would like to have most players in before they go to Spain so Ling has 2 weeks to do some business

Don’t agree that we have had 2 disaster seasons . We are very lucky to have a very talented Head coach. I

I agree, this is the key date. Richie explained it’s only fitness work for the first two weeks so as long as the 4, 5 or 6 (or now 7!) new recruits are getting that at their current clubs, it’s ok.

But you’d want them along for the team bonding session in an ideal world…

If only we were a bigger club with crowds of 20,000 plus and such allowed a bigger transfer budget so not to fall fail of FFP.

If only there wasn't bigger clubs than us that can offer better deals.

If only we had owners that didn't care about the rules or what happens to the club in 5 years time.

If only we were not a London club where the cost of housing/living is far higher than anywhere else and such means that we have to offer more than other clubs just to be comparable.

If only there wasn't agents that's only interest is to make as much out of deals as possible and pretend they have the players interests at heart.

If only football was a working man's game and wasn't all about money.

Would those be the disastrous seasons where we won the L2 title then secured our highest league finish in 10 years?

Where other clubs are strengthening their squads bringing in players, we are weakening our squad by letting players go.

In a few weeks time, RW will be moaning in an interview that we left it too late late bringing players in, etc etc just as he did last season

Steve Evans has signed 16 players. Rotherham released 18 players end of May. He is 2 players short of where he was before
