Lawrence Fox and Ronnie Reagan were both actors, still right wing whack jobs as well.

Whatever. If you wish to continue to deflect this exchange from the obvious racist core of Reform then fill yer boots. Avatars are just a bit of a laugh - I'll change it on Friday after Nigel has won Clacton.

Superb speech by Farage today in front of 5,000 people. You can’t barrage the Farage.

Re: Farage claims that ....
Quite fascinating what the events over the last few days have shown us about 'The Farage Playbook'.
When something untoward is suggested about him or his supporters, he laughs it off as 'that's just blokey speak' etc
When that fudging doesn't work and his actions, his beliefs , his supporters behaviour show something quite disturbing and unlawful, he goes on full attack.
He then presents himself as the victim. Victim of the evil establishment, victim of the evil media, victim of politics.
He poses with a jar of beer (even though he doesn't actually like the stuff) and his fan club believe he is 'one of them'.
But pointing this out to them, in their mind is just confirmation of their belief that he is the only one who 'is on their side, tells them the truth'
He uses their total adoration of him to ensure their mind rejects any observation, thoughts, opinions that don't come from him. ...
In reality Farage doesn't actually care about them or their struggles (remember how little interest he gave to the problems of fisheries when he had specific responsibility for this in the EU parliament? - was it one meeting out of 47 he attended`?)
Farage lovers: he doesn't give a flying f*** about you. YOU are just a tool he uses for his personal agenda.
And it's not an agenda for genuinely improving ordinary peoples' lives. Beware, you have been warned,
He thrives and delights in stirring up hate.
And collects your donations.

Ultimately the problem is that thick racist people get the same number of votes as people who consider manifestos, look at voting histories, mull over the pros and cons, watch the debates, assess the arguments and generally have more than a brain cell or two to rub together.

They're not the problem, it's those he feel so disenfranchised that they don't bother voting, thus pushing up a minority into something more significant.o-no wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 6:21 am Ultimately the problem is that thick racist people get the same number of votes as people who consider manifestos, look at voting histories, mull over the pros and cons, watch the debates, assess the arguments and generally have more than a brain cell or two to rub together.

Wasn't it Farage who suggested that if we remained in the EU,80 million Turks would be invading our shores? He is happy to light fires, then expresses fake concern when conflict erupts.

Re: Farage claims that ....
All this sneering and being so condescending sounds very much like the brexit vote to me. If I was the left I would be concentrating on how great Starmer is going to be rather than worrying about how bad Farage is. Labour are about to get a huge majority and all I hear is Farage, Reform blah blah blah. Read the guardian comments section. 90% of the comments on politics live are about Farage and the left getting their knickers in a twist. I haven’t decided if I will vote for reform or the Social Democratic Party. The latter dont receive any press coverage ergo nobody votes for them. All you are doing is feeding into the narrative of us against them and Farage must be loving it.

It's exactly that type of left wing contempt for people who don't agree with them that pushes people to party's like Reform . I don't think contempt for thick racists is a left wing preserve, but if you want to come out in support of them then that's your choice.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 8:14 amIt's exactly that type of left wing contempt for people who don't agree with them that pushes people to party's like Reform . Is that why a reform candidate has now changed to backing the Tory party because of the Racism row?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 8:14 amIt's exactly that type of left wing contempt for people who don't agree with them that pushes people to party's like Reform . Of course it is - you've got the same dark powers at play, trying to replay the same game.
Honestly, I don't know how much more of this I can take. I'm giving serious consideration to moving abroad to somewhere like France with my fellow lefties.

Uncontrolled immigration is a disaster for everyone. We have the problem in Australia, where rent has gone up 30% in a year because of it. We cannot build sufficient housing and infrastructure to keep up with it, but the politicians on both sides love it as it increases their tax revenue. The government's around the world have basically been running a population ponzi scheme for the last 50 years
