Without both Galbraith and El-Miz in our midfield this season I think we could well end up being relegated . Richie has already said this season is going to be considerably tougher than last season . Currently we're already weaker than last season so how much weaker are we going to end up ?Norlington Road wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 9:36 am We have to say no, he’s not for sale . You're joking . He's one of our best players and who do you think we will end up with as a replacement because I wouldn't be very optimistic .Long slender neck wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 10:01 am Doesnt really even have a position nailed down here, we should accept 100k

Re: Galbraith Offer being considered
The Q is what would £500k give us in terms of budget for the season?
Would RW be given all of the money to reinvest and go out a buy a direct replacement? Same or if not better level player as Gailbraith?
Would RW be given all of the money to reinvest and spend to improve squad? I.e bring in 2 or 3 players?
Would RW only receive a % of the money to reinvest and spend on the squad?
Personally I hope the bid is rejected, as Galbraith will be a massive player for us this year, especially if El Miz is not returning.

Every player has his price especially at this club, personally I think Galbraith is a quality player and they don’t come around that often, I don’t think 1m would be out of the question or even higher but comparing El Miz is rubbish there both different types of player. You won’t get goals from Miz, and at the end of the day that’s what win you matches. I agree with the person who said Peterborough wouldn’t let him go for500 k. Unfortunately this club would.

Then you have to wonder if we deserve to stay in League 1 . If we end up getting relegated the club would only have themselves to blame .Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 10:55 am Every player has his price especially at this club, personally I think Galbraith is a quality player and they don’t come around that often, I don’t think 1m would be out of the question or even higher but comparing El Miz is rubbish there both different types of player. Re: Galbraith Offer being considered
I agree Red but if you like me have followed the club for many years then you will know how the club operates. It’s always been the same. If this rumour is true??? Then the question must be asked why did Wellens sign a new 3 year contract knowing all his “young exciting team” is being pulled up from under him.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 11:02 amThen you have to wonder if we deserve to stay in League 1 . With this investment group, there’s no way that whole fee would be reinvested in the squad. Be lucky to have a quarter of it reinvested.Stan1972 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 10:11 am The Q is what would £500k give us in terms of budget for the season?

Don’t often agree with you but I do on this. If they now buy younger players for sell on purposes then why would they spend all of the proceeds on more players. At this stage I’m wondering weather I was right in renewing my ST.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 11:25 amWith this investment group, there’s no way that whole fee would be reinvested in the squad. Re: Galbraith Offer being considered
We have always been a selling club and likely always will be.
Earliest examples I remember are Dennis Rofe and Tommy Taylor, lost count of those since.
One that really pissed me off was Paul Beesley, so obviously bought to sell on at the first opportunity.
Bit like those chancers that go round charity shops checking out everything to flog on Ebay for a profit

Re: Galbraith Offer being considered
£500k is a massive amount L1 to L1. Shows how money is filtering down the system. This assumes there is an offer and looking at other dealings that Alfie May is £750k. BTW May is from up north so there's a bit of sense to the move for hiim.gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 9:49 amIs £500k massive for a L1 player sale? Look at the numbers Peterborough were talking about for Kyprianou and this figure seems far too cheap in comparison.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 9:36 amThis is basically what Nigel has talked about. Signing young promising players from bigger clubs and then selling them on.
It might sting to see a promising player like Galbraith leave but if there’s any substance to this, 500k is massive amount for us and he’s replaceable. The same thing will happen with O’Neill next year.
The Peterborough model is a good one but only if you get big fees for the assets to fund the next batch you want to bring in and keep the squad ticking over in the meantime.
I fully expect us to sell this year but the fees need to be way better than what we usually get.

£0.5m hardly a massive amount. Would be very disappointed if we’re trying to make a ‘turn’ at that kind of level. Offer him a revised contract. Probably our most exciting player going into this season.

Re: Galbraith Offer being considered
People have lost their minds if they think 500k for Orient isn’t a very decent amount.
We’re talking about a player who has had a season in league two and was decent for just over half a season in league one. It’s natural to overvalue your own assets.
If orient bought a player for half a mil with the same cv you’d think king had gone mad
