Re: Welcome Sonny Perkins
I had to check this news was true due to the OP reputation
But when I saw Ling had secured a loan deal for a young striker who’s never scored a league goal it was pretty clearly a true story

Re: Welcome Sonny Perkins
Loaned to Oxford at the start of last season, sent back to Leeds without starting a game.
Sounds promising.

Re: Welcome Sonny Perkins
Was reasonably rated at West Ham then rejected a contract offer to then strangely go sign for Leeds, where he hasn't played since. He barely played for Oxford last season. hopefully he is just finding his feet as it looks like he is slowing dropping down the pyramid
Has lots of talent in theory but yet to really show it or prove it at men's level, be interesting how he does, Wellens will always gives players he rates a chance so he has a great platform

He must have shown a lot on his 4 minutes of League One football to be our talisman for the upcoming season.

Re: Welcome Sonny Perkins
Aged just 17, Perkins was involved in a Hammers' matchday squad for the first time, for a UEFA Europa League fixture versus Austrian side Rapid Wien, where he made his first senior appearance, coming on in the 78th minute. He also made his Premier League debut at 17, against his future club, Leeds United.
Since joining the Whites, Perkins has impressed in the under-21 side, and scored his first professional goal versus Cardiff City in an FA Cup third-round fixture in 2023. Perkins spent the first half of last season on loan at Oxford United, but returned to West Yorkshire in January.
Perkins has made 20 appearances for England youth sides, scoring twelve goals for the Young Lions.

Yes , a very Orient- esque type of transfer business . I'm sorry but I'm totally underwhelmed by this news .Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 5:11 pm He’s never started a league game from what I can see

Can't believe we have so many moaners here. Champions 2 seasons ago & highest place last season for 10 years. The moaners want us to fail. They must live miserable sad lives moaning on their computers in their bedrooms. Obv frustrated by life. Maybe it is because the Tories are due to get wiped out

Re: Welcome Sonny Perkins
I thought RW said in L1 we get loans with experience .
We’ve just lost our leading goal scorer, who also had 5 or 6 assists as well last season, for a kid with next to no experience.
Just hope we’ve got something up our sleeve as this is a massive disappointment.

Re: Welcome Sonny Perkins
Well to be fair, of the last 2 loan forwards we got, 1 was barely passable and the other was sh*t. Granted Forde was an obvious success but based on the most recent examples, people can be forgiven for being sceptical.Winchestorfan wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 5:29 pmSo many negatives re this loan. Re: Welcome Sonny Perkins
Quite the opposite . The moaners want us to win and get more success . However losing your top goal scorer from last season for a young lad who hasn't got any EFL experience doesn't fill me with any confidence .Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 5:36 pm Can't believe we have so many moaners here.
