The deal is done his agreed to pastures new. apparently it’s either Peterborough, Wrexham or Wycombe but the deal is done.
Good luck for the future

You spelt Bristol Rovers wrong
Exactly . Anyway, even a broken clock is right twice a day
we have an agreed budget and wage structure here and it is important for the long-term stability of the club that we stick to that. Myself and all of the footballing staff are aligned on that.
No surprise there, tries to hold the club to ransom each time his contract ends. Glad they've not given in, he's not worth paying through the nose for. Now get someone who wants to be here and preferably can trap a ball and pass it
It’s made it even more interesting to see who our two new strikers are.

We now need 3 (or 2 and Ruel's place goes to a wide player or CAM)
I’m sad because he was an academy product and a very Richie type player that was flexible positionally . Great finisher too but also had long dry spells and no irreplaceable. A bit worrying we can’t match Bristol Rovers wage wise but if he’s getting paid more than fair play.
This news will look good or bad depending on who we replace him with.

Rovers have an 11k capacity We have 8.7k capacity
Literally 2.5 thousand extra £20 notes every other Saturday on a full house The Sooner we increase capacity the better

Last year Rovers 8,190
Orient 8,172
So nothing in it. The fact that Rovers were able to pay more than we could for Ruel is disappointing and a tad surprising.

He’s not a great finisher. He scores great goals.
Sorry, he’s the best finisher at the club (before today)

We rarely had 8172
Plus they had over 10k at home for a 3rd round cup tie.
I can see why Nigel is desperate for a cup run

Not necessarily surprising, he was seen by RW as a bench player here so I'm glad we haven't paid first XI wages for him.

More likely he was promised regular starts, and we wouldn't do that. And we'd be right not to.

Maybe we couldn't afford it because we're buying El-Miz and the money couldn't stretch that far . I'll make my mind up about our transfer activity when the transfer window closes .

You may be right but the impression I gained from Wellens’ comments on the O’s website was that the club’s wage structure and player budget ( or maybe lack of it?) was a significant factor. RS often flattered to deceive imho and was never a particular favourite of mine but he was our leading goal scorer and can hopefully be replaced satisfactorily.

Well I think if we sign El-Miz we would have to pay a fee for him . Ipswich took up the option of extending his contract .
Feel like it's a sideways moves in terms of teams, but if he gets a longer contract then fine for him. He did a decent service for us without being always prolific.
